fredfarmer775 Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 I was in the honor box business a while back and I'm going back into it now (doing acrylic this time with the charity sticker). When I was running my route with honor boxes it was blatantly obvious that there is a HUGE and UNTAPPED market out there for vending to small businesses. Normal vending companies won't even touch this market because they have so much invested in overhead. They aren't going to put a several thousand dollar snack machine out there where there's only 8 employees who work at a business. Therefore, when I was running my honor box business, I was able to get many of these locations real close together and start making money with my honor boxes. However, as I'm sure you all would imagine, the majority of the accounts I acquired began to fall off like dominoes because of theft. Therefore I've thought that this time when that starts happening at a certain location, I'm just going to switch the honor box out with a bulk candy vending machine. Therefore that brings me to my question..........I need to get the cheapest bulk candy machines I can buy, that won't break down and provide me sufficient quality to do the job QUICKLY. I also don't want to have to hang onto a seperate key for all bulk candy machines and really would prefer to have them all keyed the same if it's not too expensive that way. So my question is, what type of bulk candy vending machine do you recommend for this job and where is the best place for me to buy them?
orsd Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 oak ,aaglobal, or eagle are cheaest, best used from cl new from mfg
Nate9303 Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Those brands from Craigslist. Then you can buy your own lock w one key.
adog Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 If you need a large quantity with the same type of machines, parts, locks, etc... most likely your going to have to buy new unless there is some vendor that is selling a large quantity of used machines. It cost money usually to get the exact things you need.
fredfarmer775 Posted June 29, 2013 Author Posted June 29, 2013 OK thanks guys. Let me ask this also...............What product is the best product to vend and have you found it lucrative to just go straight down "Main Street" and get as many locations as you possibly can that are all packed into the shortest distances traveled?
GagesVending Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 OK thanks guys. Let me ask this also...............What product is the best product to vend and have you found it lucrative to just go straight down "Main Street" and get as many locations as you possibly can that are all packed into the shortest distances traveled? It sounds like a single gumball machine route is most suitable for you. Personally, I would rather spend a little extra money upfront buying the good equipment that is going to last a long time. Trust me, it's not worth it to buy the cheap crap that they sell on websites such as gumballs.com (as previously mentioned). If you can find a local Craigslist deal on enough machines, then cool, but if you want to buy new machines, then I'd go with AA or Oak for value and reliability. As far as product, Peanut M&Ms sell well almost everywhere for me, but they are more expensive. I'd go with a gumball route because of the low cost of product and ease of servicing.
fredfarmer775 Posted June 29, 2013 Author Posted June 29, 2013 OK Thanks GagesVending. You sound pretty knowledgeable with this. Just out of curiosity, you can do bulk candy (gumball) machines as a full time living and make some damn good money at it I bet right?
GagesVending Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 OK Thanks GagesVending. You sound pretty knowledgeable with this. Just out of curiosity, you can do bulk candy (gumball) machines as a full time living and make some damn good money at it I bet right? Thanks! There are several members here that do make a living doing bulk vending. It is lucrative, you just have to get into those prime locations, which can be tricky sometimes.
fredfarmer775 Posted June 29, 2013 Author Posted June 29, 2013 How much am I looking at spending with one of these AA or Oak single head machines GagesVending?
GagesVending Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 How much am I looking at spending with one of these AA or Oak single head machines GagesVending? They're around $50/ head new. The pipestand is around $20-30 each as well. A good figure is about $100 per unit new. It'll be worth it though, especially since the cheap machines online are around that price. Oak and AA are great quality and have a fairly classic design that I've had compliments on.
orsd Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 for breakrooms gumballs might not work, from what i heard
Nate9303 Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 How much am I looking at spending with one of these AA or Oak single head machines GagesVending? I've bought used AA single machines for 30-35 dollars depending on condition. (with stand) I've usually try to pay under $65 for a used double. Buy em cheap and your ROI is fast.
fredfarmer775 Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 Nate9303, where do you get them for that price?
orsd Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 My guideline is around 20-25 per machine if route ready Less if parts are needed Way less if paint is needed Craigslist is a good source for used stuff
fredfarmer775 Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 OK this is amazing to me that you all are able to buy these machines for so cheap. However, I'm looking through Craigslist where I live and all I'm seeing are just generic looking machines and they're asking for at least twice as much as what you all are saying you buy these things for. Can you guys please be more specific here? What keywords to you put into the search engine on Craigslist, and what cities do you look for these in? I only live in a mid-sized city.

fredfarmer775 Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 OK I'm searching under all those terms and still nothing like what you all said. Are you guys saying that you buy these things for $25-$30 WITH THE STANDS INCLUDED?? If so, where are you all located?
fredfarmer775 Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 orsd, you said you buy these for $25 each. I've been looking on craigslist for the past 2 hours and I haven't seen anything that comes close to that number. I've even used the search engine for all of craigslist and looked on usedvending.com and I still don't see anything that comes remotely close to what you've said. Are you just referring to buying the machines themselves and NOT THE STANDS?? Please answer this question orsd, otherwise I'll begin to think you're just making these numbers up.
orsd Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 By patient I mean that you check almost daily for months Used vending. Com is not cheap Also look on nearby cl Also I Live in SoCal so the market here is awesome Btw try negotiating

As ORSD said you need to be patient. How can you even handle waiting for the months end to collect the money from your machines if you can't handle waiting a week for good deals. Trust me it takes time to find good deals. Sometimes you might have to drive an hour to two... some guys will drive a days worth if picking up enough equipment. Personally I don't but I haven't found any deals thats worth the time to do. It takes time to find good used equipment. Especially the exact models or stuff relatively close to what you want. If you don't have the time to wait then buy new equipment but don't go around questioning members because you think your being patient by searching for two hours... Other wise honestly they probably won't even give you their time... Their not the ones asking for help or input... YOU ARE!!! SO BE NICE AND RESPECTFUL LOL
fredfarmer775 Posted June 30, 2013 Author Posted June 30, 2013 ORSD, I've been searching over the entire United States and I don't see anything that comes remotely close to those numbers. When you said $25 were you just talking about the machine or did you mean BOTH the machine AND the stand for $25? Can anyone else in here buy a complete A&A Global single or double head (stand included) for only $25?
orsd Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Did you read my pm And it you searched the us then you obviously missed SoCal My limit is 25 per machine
