Chicken Animation

I know this was discussed in one of the other threads a few months ago, but it seemed like it was in a joking way. I came across this chicken machine in Laughlin, NV. This is on one of the original proto-type machines parsal released sometime ago. It was in a mall and at a 1.00 dollar vend. It looks like they just zip-tied the Spongebob onto the poll and replaced the chicken..Just thought I would share..

What mall was it at Nick?? I'd love to go and see one and see what the machine looks like in person. Good idea though.

I wonder why a operator would change the center piece of this machine. Especially when it sounds and clearly states a chicken. From my point of view its a attempt to boost sales on a machine that's under performing. Just like when we rotate fronts/product, or maybe sponge bob is just really hot amongst 7 year olds in that area.... If there was a machine that was more generic so to speak. A operator could change the "drawing factor" with whatever kids liked at that moment, and switched the character every couple of months...hmm that would be interesting

I had some old Toy N Joy machines L&J, they had four different plushes and sound boxes. Chicken, Holloween, Christmas, Easter I dont remember if there were others. But its like the guy at Coast to Coast told me about thier machine, " you can put anything you want in the machine" and yes you can. I like the Chicken, it looks and works well, but with a generic wrap and a  themed character, music, and marque for holidays or football it could be merchandised like a crane, and then the sky really is the limit.

For sure. I understand parsal is trying to revive a brand/establish one, but from a operators stand point it would be in our best interest if we had more control of ones egg machine. Their machine is well built no doubt. My concern is the longevity of high numbers. The crane example is a awesome one. Being versatile is the name of the game and forever changing to popular culture is too.

There is a guy in Birmingham with a bunch of the old toy n joy chickens with the season changing outfits. Not a bad idea only problem is that depending on cycle he still has Santa in jan or the pumpkin in dec. looks tacky also. To freshen up the machine use displays they work great.

Also a play on live displays u could hang some toys inside the chicken machine at different levels and depths.

If it was hung at different levels inside, between the focus on the chicken & colored eggs, I think it would get lost. If it was prominent upfront say half a dozen or more high value items, boom, boom boom......I just think people would keep pumping quarters in. Its just like at the c stores where they have all the winning lotto tickets displayed. People want to play until they win big. Just my opinion though I dont operate this type machine.
