New vendor in New York, what do I "legally" have to do in order to start a Bussiness?! Also, us this machine a good deal?

I am thinking about starting vending. Do I need to get any licenses? How much would this cost? And how would I go about getting it? Also, is an oak single head candy machine for $50 worth it? How much should I offer for it. Thanks

to put the price into perspective, a head new is 50,  a stand is 30

my guide for used stuff is 20-30 if it is ready to go, less if it needs fixing/parts, way less if it needs paint

go to your local gov't s website and try to find info on permits needed

Thanimal, welcome fellow New Yorker. If you are not in NYC, then you don't need any special permits to set up a single (or double or triple) as long as you have permission from the business owner. You might not even need any for NYC, but I'm not sure. I've been slowly expanding in the capital district. Not sure where you are, but good luck and read as much as you can here. BTW you'll read a bunch of posts about people being frustrated with candy spoilage. Listen to what they say and have a plan to store extra product. I just threw away 4 bags of melted candy, and it is really not fun. Especially for new guys with small routes. Good luck!
