jerry1973 Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Hi everyone, I keep finding misc problems with my machines that I acquired when I bought my route. I have most of them worked out, but I now have a wide column not vending on a 501e machine. It just says "make another selection" when the selection button is pressed. I checked for a jam and thought that i found a problem with one of the bottles, however it still said the same thing. I took the cover off and noticed that the motor for that selection was not in its "home" position. I took the plastic cam off that way it would release the micro switch to test to see if the motor would then work. It did work one time but then the message came back. questions 1. Is there a way to "home" the motors easily? 2. since the message came back, do you all think that the micro switch for the cam/motor on that selection is malfunctioning? I think i can swap the switch for one of the others to test? 3. what else would be a common cause of this behavior? Thanks in advance guys!!
AZVendor Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Pressing and holding the door switch that is on a bracket between the coin mech and validator will force the machine to scan all the motors and attempt to home them. You can also pull the door switch plunger out to simulate the door being closed. It is a common problem that the motor switches fail due to moisture and corrosion and replacement will probably solve your problem. You do have to have the specific switch for the motor, not any old switch laying around. I have these switches in stock for $5.60 ea. if you need any. You will know if your door switch is working properly if, when tightening the door, you see the word WAIT on the display. That is the indication that the machine is scanning all switches and peripherals. If you don't see WAIT, then your switch bracket may be bent away from the inner door or you have a door switch or harness issue. You can also release a jammed motor by pressing in on the metal part of the motor brake and allowing the motor to rotate backwards away from the pressure of the jammed product.
