chris in bc Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 I have a USI CB500 can vendor. I noticed today that is double vending cans on every 2 nd vend on the column # 16. This is a front column. I think it may be the drop sensor starting to die or the the drop sensor needs adjustment electronically. Can anyone help? I had this problem with a brand new CB 700, this time the back columns were double vending and I replaced the control board and drop sensor and that seemed to cure the dilemma! I also have a V576 and it is double vending only after a "cradle" or other wise known as a "vend bucket" rotation-making this vend #1. Vend #2, #3 and #4 are all single can drops as the machine should be doing I think a new gage bar is required? Clips are all fine and not missing. I checked!
chris in bc Posted July 7, 2013 Author Posted July 7, 2013 Software vrsion for the USI CB 500 10 select can vendor is 2403!
AZVendor Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 On the CB500, make sure you have the depth properly programmed for can or bottle, then if the depth is set right and you have a drop sensor adjustment using an LED on the board, turn the adjustment screw 1/2 turn counterclockwise to increase the sensitivity. If you have a GVC board then check your can and bottle setting then if needed, follow the instructions on the logic board cover to enter the Options menu and adjust the drop sensor setting to "dr 3." On the V576, are you saying that the double vend occurs after the rotor reloads and comes to a stop? If so, then your gauge bar may not be in the correct slot (move one slot right in the front) or your motor may have skipped a tooth or two in the gearbox. A bent gauge bar generally won't affect the front can but only the cans behind it. It could be though, that the gauge bar is bent and was adjusted to compensate for that and is now causing this problem. Remove the gauge bar, turn it over and sight down the length to see if it's straight.
chris in bc Posted July 7, 2013 Author Posted July 7, 2013 The Cb500 is properly set up. I have a GVC board. The depth setting is correct, the DROP setting is at 3 and every other column is vending one can at a time. It is still double vending every second vend. ALSO...I noticed that this column dropped a can almost 3 minutes after I walked away from the unit. I am leaning to a drop sensor failure and/or a vend motor that does not stop 100%...it moves ever so slightly after a vend..just enough to drop a second can. Any suggestions sir? Thanks for your help!
AZVendor Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Try adjusting the drop sensor to "dr 2" or down to "dr 1". The motor is not capable of coasting. Also remove your logic board cover and make sure the drop sensor is fully plugged in. Then try to follow the sensor cable from the board to the sensor to see if there is any damage to the cable's insulation.
chris in bc Posted July 7, 2013 Author Posted July 7, 2013 I tried all the above-nothing made a difference. I think I need a new drop sensor and or a board repair. Weird that this problem is only to one front column!
AZVendor Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 You won't need both a logic board and a drop sensor. Only one thing will be the problem. You should speak to USI tech support to confirm which it is. Your part should be under warranty if a new machine. You mention that you are vending cans from this column; what size are they? Remember, too, that if vending 16 oz bottles, you will need the black plastic funnel slide to ensure proper vending of products.
