aswilsoncsu Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 We bought a 3039 yesterday where the soda was slaved off the snack. The display is dead today now that the machines are separated. Does a cable need to be jumpered within the snack? thanks
mission vending Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 We bought a 3039 yesterday where the soda was slaved off the snack. The display is dead today now that the machines are separated. Does a cable need to be jumpered within the snack? thanks No jumper required. Did you turn off power when you disconnected the satellite unit? Is there power in the machine? Have you checked the harness connections to the control board to see if they are connected?
AZVendor Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 No, there is no harness to deal with if the machines are separated. Do you actually have power to the machine - is the light on or does the validator power up? Was the display working before you bought it? If you separated the umbilical harness while the snack was powered up, as Mission asked, you might have blown the logic board.
aswilsoncsu Posted July 18, 2013 Author Posted July 18, 2013 Thanks guys for the feedback. The machine does power up with the light on and cycling of the validator. Display is out and coin mech not accepting. The power was disconnected before they were separated and moved. Still sound like a control board?
AZVendor Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Perhaps when moving the machine something got disconnected. It sounds like you don't have 24v to the logic board. This is a SMIII machine and your board is behind the panel above where the coin mech hangs. You need to remove that panel (with power turned off) and look for the power connector which I believe is the lower left connector. Make sure it is plugged in fully as well as all other connectors on the board. If all connectors are properly plugged in then you may have had one or both of the 110v supply lines to the transformer pulled off if the power cord got pulled hard or jerked at any time. The transformer sits on a shelf behind the coin mech. You can probably see it by looking under the bottom shelf - you may have to crawl into the cabinet a little bit to see it. If you can't see it from the side then get behind it to see if any wires have been pulled off. The only strain relief on the power cord is the rubber plug that fits in the hole on the cabinet back. If that plug is pulled out then the cord can pull wires loose inside the machine.
aswilsoncsu Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 You got it-that was the issue. When the machine was moved the transformer came loose and pulled away from it's harness. Had to take the panel behind the coin mech off to get to it and reinstall. Thanks again for your help here.
