LandJGroup Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Ive got a 5th generation Panda Bear Claw machine thats got a claw issue. The machine boots up as normal. The claw moves as it should across the playing field, but when I push the joystick button to engage the prizes it does nothing. Then it freezes up...
cointech Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 that sounds like what it does when the string winds up backwards ice makes pretty good cranes. $400 sounds like a great deal if the machine works and has no damage to it. They also still support the game with parts and service www.icegame.com

I would replace the up down switches just as a precaution they could be going bad
mainor5251 Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Got a 6th gen smart that when you hit the drop on the top of the joystick it will only go an inch and come right back up. Most of the time claw drops fine with no issues but about 1 out of 5 times it has that issue. Any insight appreciated.
cointech Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 I would look at the condition of the string. If the string is too fat, has knots or starting to wear and get fuzzy it might be hanging up and tripping the switch to soon. also check the switch on the roller cam the trips to tell the machine has hit bottom. If its quiet in the location you should hear the switch click. make sure the screws holding the switch are tight but not over tight and make sure the wires are connected to the switch well. have you owned this crane for a while and its just now messing up or has it been having problems for a while
mainor5251 Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 No bought used never had it on location. String does look old and worn
cointech Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 its a little difficult since you don't know if the problem is new or old but changing the string has fixed this for me the worn sting can cause the switch to trip early thinking the claw has hit bottom the type of string is important also. its not regular string rope or twine.
mjacks Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Usually when the claw only drops a little way that means the string has jumped off the roller and is binding up. I have to pull the string all the way out and reroute so it will wind up correctly. If the string is bad enough if may be the reason it got tangled up and will need replacement.
havending Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 No bought used never had it on location. String does look old and worn Is it the thicker string or like kite string.
havending Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Thicker string Text me your address I will send you one
mainor5251 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Had this crane out on location and working for a few weeks after replacing string then started acting up and couldn't get working on location so brought back to shop. Took apart carriage and reassembled twice before I got it to work again now only problem is instead of returning to home position(front left side) it goes to the left but to the rear. Any ideas what coul be causing it, even after reset its still doing it.
mainor5251 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Found the problem, we don't even need to talk about it. It was dumb rookie mistake.
