Dealing With Roach Coaches

Recommended Posts

Lately a roach coach has been showing up at a couple of my locations and it is starting to effect sales in snack machine's, I know they have to make a living to and just curious if any one here deals with roach coaches.  I keep my machines clean and well stock with fresh snacks, also fix any problems with machines asap! That is all I can do.

Here they need a $300 permit to operate a  roach coach.

You can only appeal to the business owner to prohibit them, but you have to remember that if you don't offer cold or frozen food, the roach coaches have something that you don't offer.  This will make it hard to get a business to cancel them.  If you can get a contract with your location that prohibits outside vendors of any kind, then you can hold the location accountable for getting rid of it.

Its the nature of the beast, he is offering something you don't and you have something he doesn't. You are not selling hot food and he is only there for a limited time, he can't afford to sit there all day like your machines do. About all you can do is find out what he is charging and make sure you are meeting or beating his prices. Once the novelty wears off, unless its really good or at really good price his sales will drop off a bit. You can only hope that they drop off enough that he will decide to try somewhere else to make better money.

Yep,

You're probably kicking his butt price wise but people will tend to eat less snacks if they're buying stuff off the roach coach.  If this account is not too big he'll probably move on after awhile when he finds some greener grass.

You do not want to get into food vending just to boot a roach coach.  I had one at an account a couple of years ago and the guy was charging about twice what I did so I was able to raise my prices a little

It was the woman at the front desk who told me about the food truck, it didn't bother me a bit because of the gas he/she burns plus having to stay in the heat to service people. As the replies said she/he has hot burgers, fries maybe, sammiches  ;D , maybe a different home made snack that comes with meal. My machine is in lunch room where it is AC and is there 24/7 just ready for them to use like they want.

I actually seen the roach coach driving to different locations at the port, I don't believe it will last the summer, to raged out!
