ayden55
Hi all! I'm new to TVF, and semi-new to vending. I stumbled upon this ad for a Dixie-Narco 276 vending machine... http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/bfs/3908671907.html As it says, it is $250. I don't have a large enough vehicle to haul it in, so I would have to hire a mover. It Is about a 2-hour drive from me. I'm wondering if any of you here at TVF have any experience with the 276? Is i$250.00 a good deal/fair price? Oro should I just pass it up? Thanks. -Ayden

At 250 its a good deal, with the extra costs maybe, maybe not. Do your homework first.
AZVendor
Welcome to the world of vending, where you will find some of the most Frankensteined machines ever! This is originally a 7up fronted machine as you can see from the shape of the front sign. It's very strange that someone went to the trouble of putting a Pepsi sign in the door and Pepsi graphics on one side while leaving the 7up graphic on the other side. All that aside, if the machine cools properly and the vend motors work you will have to decide how much money you truly want to put into it. You can solve the graphics issue by simply removing them from both sides. You can't get bottler graphics for them anyway. I do see some white scuffing on the lower left side, so you may need to paint the entire cabinet. It is a single price machine so you will have to factor in a coin mech for around $100 with shipping and probably a rebuild of the bill validator along with possible needing a validator harness. I would offer at most $150 for the machine knowing what will need to be done to it.
ayden55
Thank you both for your great advice. I will most likely keep looking around but will keep an eye on this machine. Thanks!

The validator is also a good one but given that you'll need somebody to move it and buy a coin mech I'm a little on the fence.
Vendors Tech
He doesn't say in the ad if it works or not. You will need to check and see if the refrigeration works, the motors work, etc. That is quite the machine. I've seen very few machines with that style front, and none with that combination of signs! I'd say if you can talk him down to $200 or less, it would be a good deal, assuming everything is working. Then even if you had to buy a coin mech, you would only be at $300 plus moving costs, and that's not bad for a working single price, especially a 276 narrow like that.
