TKK
Sorry for posting so much but I learn everytime I do. Bought a route today 4 locations 4 snack 5 soda. Two are multiprice. Snacks are all cranes. One location they attached a changer since their bvs arent working. Gross 2200 a month Paid 8500 plus 700 in inventory and escrow. She gave me a refurbed Dixie narco compressor, like 6 motors, 4 fronts, etc. All arr within a mile apart all warehouses. No comission but prives r very low. Lss chips. 60-.75 chocolates. 75-.95 cans. 55-.75 Ill post pics in a bit. Now heres my big question This will be my girlfriends route shes going into nursing and has to quit her fulltime job. All our stuff except mortgage. Now she wont get out til January. So til then im servicing it. Whats the best way to do this include it as my company and pay all taxes and all, and just give her the net profit, til she starts servicing it, or should she be as an employee, or for her to just buy that seperate like product etc? What would you guys recommend?

AZVendor
Those are all terrific machines and I'd say you got a great deal with the locations included. I can't believe the vendor was so lazy that they thought hanging a POS changer on the side of a quality snack machine was better than replacing the validator. Do you want me to sent you a validator for it?

TKK
Az how do u raise prices in the Dixie multi they had the green light to raise
AZVendor
In an SIID machine, you press the blue service button on the logic board and then using the top two selection buttons together, press and hold until the display shows S-P. Now you can press any select button and holding it will raise the price, releasing and holding again will lower the price. When the price is set you can move to another selection that you want to change using the same method.

What would you guys recommend? TKK, what state are you in? Those prices are really cheap. The cheapest we go down here: $ .75-can, $1- 1.25 candy. What's the price for candy, cans, etc in your local wholesale club?

I think the correct thing to say is.... his way is far better for us vendors out there that work our butts off to provide a quality service while trying to make a profit at the same time. QualitySelectionsJ
If you have an accountant he'll probably have the best advice for you considering the taxes (etc) that employers have to pay.
AngryChris
I don't know Texas law, but you may be able to hire her as an independent contractor and pay her that way. She'll have to pay taxes on her income but it will prevent you from having to deal with payroll.

QualitySelectionsJ
Nice how can I find that out Tkk, this is a link to W-9, which is used for independent contractors. Again, your accountant should know the best way for you to do this. http://printw9.com/

She'll have to pay taxes on her income but it will prevent you from having to deal with payroll. There are about 20 questions to answer to determine her employment status. With the existing relationship, together but not married, you are in a gray area. Talk to your accountant

QualitySelectionsJ
I Dont have an accountant... Can you find a friend of a friend or referral? They usually give a free consultation; and you'll have someone to do your taxes in April.
AngryChris
I Dont have an accountant... The only other thing you can do (easily) that won't make you look bad on a tax return is to PAY her out of your own pocket, and YOU will have to pay taxes on the profit as if she was never there and never paid. Sparta_Automation
Independent contractors are status has been abused ALOT in the past...and the IRS looks closely at these arrangements as it's a way that companies try to skip payroll taxes. Just calling someone a n Independent Contractor doesn't make them an independent contractor. I believe the IRS has a page devoted to this topic and specific tests to see if they would qualify.
