LLC in a different state

I Live on the border between two states and plan on doing business in both.  The state I live in is crazy expensive to form an LLC... so I want to create it in my neighbor state.  I know other people on here do it too, but am not finding the info I need.

 

Do I need to find someone in that other state to be my "registered agent" in that state to form the LLC? (If so, who do you look for?  A CPA? Someone you trust that lives in that state? or is there some companies that specialize in this?)

 

And then do I add my state on as a foreign business to that originall LLC so I can do business in both states?
