EddieMac
I have two CB500's that the fluorescent lights just quit working on them. I've changed the bulbs with known working bulbs to no avail. Would it be the ballast? If so, where is the that thing located? Could it be something else? Thank you for your time.

The fluorescent light went out after about 3 years, I replaced the bulbs about every other month until the ballast went totally out. Vendnet wanted 97 dollars so I looked at other alternatives and ended up buying undercabinet LED lights from Lowes and wired it in place of the originals and haven't had a problem since. The ballast is to thr right of the chute behind a metal panel. John

If you'd like, I can send you an aftermarket ballast that you can wire into the factory connections. It is $30 plus shipping - much cheaper than the rip off price from USI. The ballast is located behind a metal cover in the lower right corner of the door.
