snackorator
Hello, I have a mars 2511 dbv and mars trc 6000 set-up in a Naional 148. the dbv accepts the dollar but does not register the value in the screen. It does accept coins and the value on the screen. The light on dbv is solid and coins are in the coin accepter. Could this be a board issue? Thanks. AZVendor
If you just installed this validator, which harness(s) do you have connected to it? Based on how you connect it you may need to change the settings on switches 7 & 8 on the validator so it communicates properly. First try all switches off, then try 7 on & 8 off along with your preferred settings for the other switches, then try 7 & 8 off, then lastly try 7 off & 8 on. One of the settings will be the correct one depending on the harness you use. If none of that works then try a different validator. If that still doesn't work then you may have a bad board, but I expect the issue is really only a switch setting issue.
Vendors Tech
There is also a setting under "Configure" on the settings keypad. Depending on what harness setup you have, you will either need to set it as a "serial validator" or as a "pulse validator" If you just have one harness going into the bottom half of the plug on the MEI, then set it on pulse. If you have the whole plug filled with two harnesses, and if space J129 on the control board has a 4 pin plug with one blue wire in it on the bottom, then you need to set it on serial. If you need step by step instructions on how to get to that setting, then let me know. If you have a serial configuration, then start with both 7 and 8 switches off. If it is pulse, turn 7 on and 8 off.
