Candy crane claw

Recommended Posts

In older cranes the coil voltage is the same as the motor voltage, 24v is common I've seen 60v and 48(?)v

You need a coil w the right voltage match up so it can lift correctly and doesn't burn out. What kind of crane is it? Is there and existing claw? If so open the lid and take out the coil

See if it says anything on the coil

Well actually I'm trying to incorporate a claw into another non vending related little thing I'm making

Like i said I'm a total noob and so your almost taking greek to me

If you or anyone else is willing to do so a quick crash course on the parts your talking about that would be very appreciated

Thanks

it would help if you explain what you need it for

the way a claw works is, there is the fingers of the claw are attached to a center post.

the center post goes up inside a solonoid (aka claw coil) when the coil energizes it creates a magnetic field that sucks

the post up and this closes the fingers of the claw

the claw coil voltage adjustment is what adjusts how "grabby" the claw is, weak coil means the claw is less grabby

Thank you dogcow, you da man

I'm putting this into something I'm making as a pickup mechanism

By your description it sounds like I need a claw and a coil, the one that has the lowest voltage and that your willing to part with for cheap

Thanks again
