Soda is the best full line starter

Less stock and longer shelf life than snacks

As for the machine, something this old may very well still have an obsolete coinco CBA validator, and if it is it may need to be replaced

Also ap4000 is a smaller machine so take that into account

200 is a marginal price in my area

Your area may be different

Ps this machine is on the verge of obsolescence so parts maybe a crapshoot even from people like azvendor

The price is right but that's an OLD machine. The AP's are the best made older machines and many of us use the AP7600's and 113's extensively but these are newer than the 5000.  This is a full size 5 wide machine so make sure you've got the space for it and really try and put a soda machine with it.

As has been beat to death here,  solo snack machines are tuff to buy stock for as you can't really use case lots of anything.

What do you mean by "indoor storage facility"?  I have a soda machine at a mid-sized temperature controlled indoor self-storage facility and it is a complete dog.  I am viewing it as free storage for the machine until I find another location, but it is pretty bad.  Less than $10 a week in the winter, better in the summer, but in no way an acceptable location.  And I would expect drinks to do better than snacks in a location like that with people working hard and getting thirsty loading and unloading their items.  Of course, you never know what locations may turn out to be strong, but I have found that the traffic is very weak, and there is generally only one or two employees on site.  YMMV.

The AP 5000 for $200 is a good price if it's in good shape.  It is a 4 wide, 5 shelf machine and it would have an aftermarket validator kit on it.  It uses the same parts as the AP4600 machines and most of the common replacement parts are available.  If it has a metal validator in it you should plan on upgrading it to one of the newer plastic ones once yours begins to reject bills.

As stated, any storage facility indoors or out, will be a lousy account and should never have anything other than a cheap single price machine.  I had a string of those mini storage places in my day and they were all dogs, though some did better than others.
