Trying to wire in a free vend button and switch while maintaining the capability to accept coins. I want to make a jumper cable with the jones plugs on each end and splice in a switch to bypass the coin changer. I have seen the diagram where pins 1 and 7 are jumpered and a switch is placed between pins 1 and 3. Why are pins 1 and 7 jumpered and do I need to do this if I leave the plugs connected? AZVendor Posted February 14, 2014 Share Posted February 14, 2014 I have attached a file showing how to wire in a momentary switch to allow a free vend. This is usually used by itself in place of the coin mech but I believe you can piggyback this wiring off the wires coming off the changer socket. There is also a free vend keyswitch kit that I could get from the factory if you'd like. It's a cleaner installation and comes with all the wiring needed.
