Buying Advice

A vendor shut down after 20 years, temporarily leaving 3 working machines in an extremely large warehouse, which also shut down. Warehouse has two break rooms and used all three units. Machines are 2 Dixie DNB 501s (single price) and 1 Norton 3037 for $1500 total. This also includes a good stock of parts including a dollar bill changer. We do our work in our garage. The warehouse is empty but is unavailable for initial machine cleanup. We don't have locations yet so would have to pay two moves at $75-$100. It appears that after searching this forum, that the DNBs are uniformly recommended. Considering cleanup, maintenance and transportation, does this opportunity seem worthwhile? Locally, similar rehabbed machines run about $1200 plus tax, but they would come with fresh rehab and delivered to location. Decisions.. decisions. I could use some comments from you masters of the biz. Thanks. Laurence

If the DN machines are 501T or 501R or 501CC models then they are older machines that were designed for cans 3 deep only.  If they are 501E's then they are 3 cans or 3 bottles deep.  The 3037 model you mentions isn't a "Norton" but a USI 10 select can-only machine with a serpentine rack.  If not E model machines then they are over priced at $500 each.  If these machines aren't close to being location-ready, then the 3037 is only worth about $200 and the DN 501's are worth maybe $400.  If the DN machines are E models, they will be worth about $500 due to being single price machines.
