jasonkw
Hah. I'm sure there must be collusion. In Canada, there was some price fixing lawsuit between Nestle, Hershey, Mars and Cadbury that was settled a while back. Someone blew the whistle on them. If they did this in Canada, I'd bet they're doing it in the US.
AZVendor
I've already warned some customers that Hershey prices went up so they need to expect Mars to follow. I have always been surprised that the gubment has never accused them of price-fixing.
jasonkw
The government should really investigate this. Look at this: http://www.chocolateclassaction.com/ http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/canadian-chocolate-makers-to-pay-232-million-in-price-fixing-lawsuit/article14361922/ http://www.competitionbureau.gc.ca/eic/site/cb-bc.nsf/eng/03569.html The lawsuits claim that the defendants conspired to fix or maintain prices for chocolate products in Canada, causing chocolate buyers to pay artificially high prices for chocolate products. Of course, they settled without admitting wrongdoing. $23.2 million is a drop in the bucket for these companies.
