bevmax I/O board error

Recommended Posts

I have a 5 month old brand new bevmax 4 (or 5, whatever latest model is) and I keep getting an I/O board error and the machine goes out of service and flashes every 12-24 hours. This has happened since install and a new IT board, and even cable between I/O board and main board. Local distributor tech has been out 5 times with no luck. It is going out of service more often and quicker now.

Factory tech repair is apparently 3 weeks out and client is very upset.

This has the large LCD touchscreen (aka media version) FYI

Wow nerve racking when even tech support can't help. It would be better if it would just break. I/O can be just about anything. I would go thru and loosen every ground. Back them off and retighten them. Everyone. If that don't work then it is a process of elimination. Everything on this is a suspect. C/C readers, Bill validators, coin mech can cause communication errors. Especially the mars recyclers and 7512. If using the 7512 check error log it may give you a insight as to when it is happening. Have not worked on any with touch screens except a snack and was not to impressed.

Good luck

The touchscreen model is the Bevmax 6. ( DN5800-6 ) They are a pile of junk. I've seen this I/O board error, and have so far been able to successfully make it go away by rebooting the machine. There are a couple of things that you can do to ( possibly? ) help.

1 ) Get some dielectric grease, and go through the machine removing harnesses, putting a small amount of it on the connector, wiping it off and reinstalling the connector. ( The objective is to get some small amount of the grease into the slots that the pins slide into. This is especially important on the entire hand assembly, and the motors. It's entirely possible the tech from the distributer has already done this.

2 ) Make sure that you have the latest software flashed to the board. You'll have to talk to the distributor ( or National themselves ) to get this software. You then put the file on a flash drive, turn the machine off, insert the flash drive in the USB port on the board, and power up.

If you're also having problems with bottles dropping in the bottom of the machine, there are a couple of things that can help resolve that, too.

A ) Ensure machine is absolutely, completely level.

B ) National has a slim plastic shim called a kick plate that can be slid over the hand, to help kinetically direct the bottles firmly into the center of the hand.

These machines are almost as troublesome as the Bevmax-2 when it was first released. I hates them.

  • 2 weeks later...

Looks like it was a USA Tech card reader. They changed some settings and the machine has been OK for over a week...when you see machines starting to go down on a schedule look to USA Tech if you use them...that was when the machine was communicating to USA Tech and it created an error. They were semi-aware of issue.

I have had so many problems with usa tech readers in the last week causing machines to not except cash or card! All happened to be  machines with in-one mdb boards. In- one told me it was usa tech's problem and usa tech said it was in - one's problem. In the end I had to put an older software on them to get them to function properly.
