BaneTrain
Hey Everyone, Been a little while since I posted, life has seem to have gotten pretty busy. Today I had to soak up the hot water tank flood in my basement and replace it, fun stuff... On Friday though I got my fourth location! I now have two I got on my own and two I used Rodney for. It's at a Tattoo Parlor not too far from my house. I went in, talked to the owner, and gave him the my nice little flyer with the list of candies. I tried to push gumballs but he wasn't having it. He choose Peanut M&M's and Reeses Pieces, ohhh no! I have wanted to stay away from chocolate but I guess I have to dive into the chocolate world. I know, why have them on the list if you don't want to vend them?! I had them on there because they are popular candy and easy to get. So I am hoping and praying it goes well and I'll actually make money and not have melted chocolate everywhere. Any advice on vending these guys? Also I worked out a deal where I get half price on a sleeve, can't beat that!! Haha jk, don't even have a tattoo on my body.

lowcountry Dan
I've used PMM's for years and had no trouble at all. It has to be pretty hot to cause problems with chocolate. I've seen Skittles melt and the PMM's were still fine. They are my best seller.. I have them in all of my machines. You might try the Peanut Butter M&Ms rather than Reese's. They are cheaper and taste fine to me.
BaneTrain
Air conditioned ? It is like I told you but then I got to thinking yesterday, ohh no, what if they crank the thermostat when they leave to save on money?! Ha ha just a crazy thought running through my head as I was installing a new hot water tank. I've used PMM's for years and had no trouble at all. Can you get Peanut Butter M&M's at Sam's? I am hoping this machine takes off and people want a little bit of relaxing chocolate and peanut before they get inked lol. lowcountry Dan
Yes, you can get the Peanut Butter M&Ms at Sam's. I just recently bought some because Reese's jumped from $8.88 to $9.88. It's true that many places turn their AC off at night. It can cause problems for Mike and Ike and even Skittles sometimes. I have a machine in a bar, and when I walked in it must have been 90 degrees, at least. Mike and Ike melted, so have to be replaced. Who would sit in a bar that's over 90 degrees? Not me. But people and locations are funny that way. .

Haha, I just hope they don't melt and I can get my money back and make a little since they are so expensive.
lowcountry Dan
A 50 oz. bag is $8.88. I've never had a problem in the heat with anything but Mike & Ike, and sometimes Skittles, if its really hot. Direct sunlight might harm candy, but you need to stay away from direct sunlight in any case.
rodney69
Odd that pmm lasted longer in heat than skittles. My pmm melt the coating then melt the inside, crack the shell, and turn white before skittles change at all. My m&i last longer than pmm in the heat. Maybe not all PMM's are created equal? Maybe not every Skittle is created equal? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? The world may never know! lowcountry Dan
Just to be clear, it's possible for it to be hot enough to ruin PMM's, but it's been pretty rare for me. They'll crack and crumble.in extreme heat . The biggest mess I've ever had is melted Skittlles. They'll melt down the chute and it's a nightmare to clean. This is also pretty rare. BTW, it will 100 degrees F. here today.
