Dollar General Stores

Recommended Posts

I have the opportunity to set up a cold drink machine in front of a Dollar General and wondering if anybody

on this board has.

This store is out of town and is very busy.

1- They don't sell cold can drinks, only bottles from the small coolers.

2- They did have coke machines there at one time, but would stay broken!

3- The manager and I agreed I would buy the majority of my can product from them. I have no problem with

that, it seems they always have drinks on sale. I buy plenty from that store anyway.

Machine will be a Dr Pepper Royal 650.

I have a can only Vendo (Coke and Pepsi) in front of a rural dollar store, does about $15/week.  I would have ditched it a year ago but it's 2 miles from my house and literally on my way home, easy stuff.  It was vandalized one time but other than that, no problems.  This specific store sells bottles inside ... my cans are 50 cents less than their bottles.

Don't you have a Vendo you could stick out there?  I hate to think of those rednecks destroying the Royal  ;D  ;D  ;D

Fill it with the ceap shasta pop. $4.00 a case. .50 cent vend. Put a big sign on it saying .50. Won't be able to keep it full. Moms and dads don't mind giving those rug rats a couple of quarters. The kids are the ones that will be using it and they don't care what it is as long as it is soda.

I think it would be a good idea, I'm with Morris I'll it with cheap stuff n let her rip BUT,

I would diff be afraid of vandalism, I don't think they would let u bolt it to the ground though, drilling threw their concrete would open it up to weathering.

This is something to study on mmmm

Once they take a crow bar to the door, all the bolts in the world won't matter.  That's why I'd use a Vendo - something that'll never be missed after it's carted off to the scrap yard  ;D  ;D  ;D

lol!

In my area of the country I wouldn't say vandalism is not possible, I just have not seen any machines in public here with a cage around them.

Now there are whats called Food N Fun stores with machines selling name brand drinks for .50 a can, bottler owned.

They can afford to do it.

The Royal will be placed there, just waiting for the OK from manager.
