Buying machines by the truckload

I'm considering making a major expansion to my route.  Up until now, I've been dealing with a local refurbisher.  He is basically a middleman.   I'm curious about the idea of buying an entire truckload of machines from a wholesaler.  I'm not even sure how to go about this.  Have you guys ever done it?  What would be an appropriate per machine cost?  What does trucking cost?  Who should I call?  Am I biting off more than I can chew?

I am not sure of your angle of what you are trying to accomplish. I guess the main question is do you have the accounts to put a "truck load" of machines? Unless you where getting a smoking deal on equipment it would not be wise to tie up your capital with assets till you had a location to put them. Cash is king and you need to have as much on hand as possible until you have to invest it into your company.

A company I managed back years ago we purchased 3 truck loads of used drink machines because we got a great deal doing so but we also had accounts to put them in because we where phasing out all third party vendors at our locations.

I'm seen some of those truck loads - the machines tend to range from grim to junk.  To do this profitably you really need to be set up to do a thorough refurbishing job. This is no quick clean up job and will require some extensive repairs and more than a few parts.
