USI summit 500 coin changer "error"

Hi All,

Newbie here. I have encountered my first mechanical issue and I do not know what to do. I have a 4 month old Summit 500 machine that has stopped accepting cash. The coin mechanism is a Conlux MCM5 the C/C light is blinking and I cannot find any instructions as to what the "error" might be or how to correct it. And consequently the bill validator light is flashing twice which I assume is because there is a problem with the coin mech.

Any advice for a girl just trying to vend.....

Thanks!

I did look in the manual it says "check coin changer for ERROR" not exactly descriptive. I don't see any coins out of place, it is seated properly. That is about the extent of my expertise.

I called the tech support but they are closed for the weekend. The machine is in a community center that is super busy on weekends so I was hoping to fix it today.

Thanks!

Sylvia

If only the C/C light is flashing then check the coin acceptor for a coin jam and the tubes for incorrect coins in any of them.  Test the payout function and see if the mech can pay coins properly.  If none of that solves this and you bought the machine new then your coin mech should have a 1 year warranty from USI so you'll need to call them.

I will try the above recommendations. Yes it is only the C/C light that is flashing on the coin acceptor. Although the bill acceptor is also flashing twice on then off which I assume is because of the problem with the coin acceptor.

Thanks!

Try removing the change cassette and then press each of the payout buttons on the mech to cycle the payout motor. Then replace the cassette and power down machine and power back up.

Ok. The coin/ validator is now working! Thanks for the help. New question. I have two columns that are vending two cans for the price if one. How do i reset it to one per vend? It had been fine i obviously changed it somewhere along the way.

Thanks!

Go into the Can/Bottle setting and change the column with this issue to Can and properly save it.  The instructions are in your manual.  If the Can setting won't help then you need to adjust the sensitivity of your drop sensor.  This is also spelled out in your programming manual.

Press the service button once. Go to the front keypad and press button 4. Then press 1. Then press the selection number for the column you are having trouble on. The display should be set to "can" if you are selling 2 deep items. If it says "bottle" press button 1 to toggle between cans/bottles. When you get to the desired setting, press # to lock in selection. Then test vend it a couple times to see if the change fixed your problem. If it does not, check the finger that hangs down on the left hand side of the column. Press it down. It should lay flat against the left hand wall. If not you need to adjust (Bend it) until flat. Then retest.

Pull that coin mech apart and look for jammed coins in there.  In this model the coins can get between the tube and the housing fairly easily especially if you have some thug shaking the machine.   These pop open fairly easily, just don't break it.
