avvending
I have a coinco 9340-L in an AP 5000 that will take change, credit the machine for a purchase and spit the change back to the coin return. Any ideas?
Technivend
If the money gets credited as it falls right through to the con return cup there is a solenoid in the back of the acceptor that is malfunctioning. It is either bad, sticking, or the plunger is bad. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
rmorris1953
Or it could be the machine has been banged around and it is not on the mounting screws correctly.
AZVendor
When the coin mech accepts coins, gives a credit and gives the coins back at the same time, then you have a bad coin mech. Since you have a 9340L does that mean that you also have a harness direct to a Coinco validator from the coin mech? If so then you need the exact model to replace yours with. If you have a different way to connect the validator to the machine then you can replace the mech with any 110v micromech coin mech. You can PM me if you need an rebuilt unit as an exchange. avvending
Thank you all for the help. I am going to try and replace the solenoids and double check the alignment today.
Walta
In my opinion trying to repairing your own coin mechs and BA is a sure way to lose money. Unless you spend all day every day you will be slow and miss the details and have a high rate of failures of the units you do manage to get working. How much is your time worth? Locally a coin mech swap runs less than $70.00. You have already lost one day sales how many more can you afford? I say find the local coin mech repair shop most cities have one. AZVendor
Thank you all for the help. I am going to try and replace the solenoids and double check the alignment today. Replace the solenoids with what? Parts from another used coin mech? The problem you described is usually a circuit board issue but could be a gate or gate solenoid issue inside the acceptor. If the gate solenoid inside the acceptor is melted then you still have a coin mech problem. If it's not melted then look at the hinge point of your acceptor gate to see if the gate is broken. If it is then you must replace the acceptor with the same part number of acceptor.
moondog
Thank you all for the help. I am going to try and replace the solenoids and double check the alignment today. You'll be swimming upstream repairing your own coin mechs - even if you did manage to fix it you'll be lucky to save yourself about $5.50 an hour. I know people that have invested big bucks into the equipment to do this properly and even they send them out for repair. It's just not worth their time
AngryChris
Company i know spent several thousands of dollars on a coin mech tester that would tell you what was wrong with a coin mech but they couldn't order parts cause they weren't an authorized repair center lol. Send them off for repair!
Technivend
As an approved repair facility, I agree with letting the pros fix these. However in this case, I would highly recommend just popping the back of and taking a look at the plunger (it's the one you can easily see). Chances are that it has gotten hot and stretched. If that's the case, just throw one in from you junk pile and you should be good to go. Just be very careful that you don't break a wire that goes to the solenoid.
