Snack Machine for Hospital

Recommended Posts

I need a snack machines for a hospital I need to place next week. I'm looking at a AMS 39 640 for $1,200 and an AP Studio 3, she wants $2,500 for 2 of them. I actually need 2 machines. What are you guys thoughts on these machines. I want to make an offer of $1,000 on the AMS or $2,000 for the 2 AP Studio machines. Which do you think would be the better deal? Both are clean and the AMS has drop sensor.

I think I'd opt for the AMS.  I own a Studio 1 which is a four wide refrigerated version of the Studio 3 and can tell you that these machines are a little on the flimsy side though I doubt you'd have much vandalism in a hospital.

Since you need two machines I would make the offer on the 2 ap and if she takes it, I think you got a good deal for the two if they are in good condition. I like the AMS too, but I have a lot more AP

Do you know which AMS it is....  Sensit I,II or III?

Do both machines have dual spirals or single... I would of thought that the AP Studio 3 would of had Golden Eye but maybe this didn't come as standard on all models but I am sure that you could add this if you wanted both machines to have drop sensors.

I like both machines (get both  ;D ) but if I had to choose I would probably go for the AMS...

Anything would look flimsy when you compare it to a AP7600  ;D

I got the two AP's for $2,000.

Did you get these approved by the decision maker before the purchase? Sometimes these folks can be very picky about what goes in their hospitals because of "image" or a certain "look" they want to have.

No but they look better than the ones there that are being kicked out. The guy there did a terrible job stocking, several of the same products on the same row. I'm also adding credit card readers. One glass front and two stacker and two snack machines. Hope it all pays off.

Sounds good! Good luck with it.

Some Hospitals do rock. But some are terrible. It's really weird.

Very true I have had mixed results. It really depends on the size of the hospital. Obviously the larger the better but the larger ones are harder to acquire.

I have only one hospitAl and it does OK. We only have the snacks. Pepsi and Coke do the drinks and are terrible at it. They had just signed a 4 yr contract before we took over the snacks. We will work on the drinks in the future. The E.R. Waiting area does the best. We then have machine on 4 floors. Surgery floor does the second best. E.R. Pulls about $250/wk, surgery $175/wk, other about $75/wk. in the process of adding CC reader to the E?R. Machine to see if it will help any.

Be sure you test the signal before drilling. Some hospitals are shielded from cell signals.

The signal strength is not the best, but not bad. RSSI is around 18. We think we will get the cold drink machines as well, due to service. They are very satisfied with our service.

It's been a long time but I thought that "11" or greater was the lucky number for USATech readers.  Anything under that was not good strength and over was workable.  Whatever the number was, I had to mount my antennae to the top of the machine just to get a solid signal strength.  Mounting it inside the machine (bevmax) wasn't going to give me enough strength.  I was afraid that someone would tamper with it but it's been there for maybe 2 years now with no issues but the location has all well-behaved adults lol.

They ask that it be a strength of 12 or better, most of ours are in the upper 20's. A few are single digits. NAYAX asks for 12 but said that they will work as low as 4.
