MidStateVending
I have a vending client that wants to lease 2 ice machines from me. One for their 65 employee warehouse, and a smaller one for 10 employee office. Must make and dispense ice. Also, should connect to water line. Any suggestions on what price to charge per month? How much should I expect to pay? Also brands to consider? Any other suggestions appreciated because I am diving into something new.

WE do have one member that operates the big drive up style machines but those would not be what you're looking for. http://vendiscuss.net/index.php?/topic/19383-ice-vending-machines/
RJT
I would simply tell them you do not do ice machines and tell them you would be happy to help them find a company that handles ice machines. Ice machines are expensive, tough to maintain and unless the account is large enough not worth fooling with. The ONLY time I do ice machines is huge accounts that do huge volume and then the only reason is because it is a requirement in order to get the account in the first place. A decent ice machine will cost you a couple thousand dollars (or more) and because of that what could you charge for rent? $30 a month? Be awhile before you would even pay for it. Also ice makers in general will hurt you sales because of people buying 6 packs or two litters and making their own.
Walta
Make sure the lease is in writing and signed by company’s owner with a personal guarantee that will put that person’s home cars and savings at risk as collateral. Should the company fold you do want to be stuck with ice machine that are of no use to you. I would take the installed price of the equipment add 25% for repairs divide by the number of months in the lease or not to excide 60. Your number will likely be much higher than any company that specializes in ice machines. Walta

I seriously doubt any owner of a company is going to sign any "personal guarantee" over an ice machine. Unless you are in the ice machine rental business or want to get into it then it is best to leave it to those that do. Again, if it is a large account and it is a requirement to include an ice maker with vending (for free) then fine if not I would not mess with it. MidStateVending
I appreciate everyone's opinion on Ice Machines, as it confirms to me that it is an area I want to stay out of. I found a supplier that rents a counter top for $160 / month. There is a $300 setup fee. If the customer wants it off the floor, it is an extra $40/ month for a stand. To purchase the ice machine outright is $3600+tax. I have decided to refer the client to this supplier so I don't have to deal with it.
