Dixie narco refrigeration deck

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I live in south Florida, and i was wondering if anyone could help me find someone or somewhere to teach me how to fix these units, how to detect leaks, weld, recharge, change starter.
If not in driving distance some material, videos, what tools to get. thank you

If you don't already have training to repair and work on refer decks then you want to leave it to professional refrigeration techs who know what they are doing.  There are different types of freon, compressor oils, leak detection methods and proper recharging techniques that are not for the untrained to try performing.  Refrigeration school is probably your only source for this training.  Please don't think that you can learn this online.

Refrigeration is refrigeration. It doesn't matter what it's for but refrigeration is rather complicated to understand as a beginner. You could take a course in refrigeration as AZ mentioned but you'll still have to buy the equipment to work on them. You'll find out in the end that you would have been better off hiring someone though.

And I don't think Dixie Narco or any other Vending company want regular people working on their decks. They want distributors doing that work so they know it's [usually] done right.

i work for a ending company, have for 7 years, in my area is just hard to find anyone who wants to work on them cause theres little money...

u said it all refrigeration is refrigeration, and the system we have on our machines is a simple one, how hard can it be?

u have a pump, a starter to make it turn, a cooling fan, a coil...

most repairs if u have a leak u find it patch and recharge, cant be that hard to learn....

anyone is regular people until u get trainning in a subject

Simple for the person that has had training yes. Do you know how to handle a torch? Did you know that some refrigerants when heated with a torch will have toxic fumes that can kill you instantly? Doing it properly isn't just brazing joints. Knowing what is happening within the system is critical to it working correctly. Super heat, sub cooling, etc.

If you don't even know the correct terminology for the parts and procedures then you're not ready to do this yourself.

im not claiming i know, but if ure not gonna be helpful, u can keep ur comments to urself

explain to me what difference does it make if the terminology is wrong, does it matter if u call a prostitute a hoe?

but id appreciate the info, thats what im looking for here...

now either quit being an golpher vendor, or share ur knowledge accumulated in 30 years of vending

thanks

It isn't a matter of just reading and letting someone figure it out. You need training in many areas. There are votech schools that teach how to and will train you with hands on. There are laws to be followed and fines if you don't follow them up to $50,000 not counting prison time. I spent the time and money to do this the proper way. The advice you get here is good advice and if you take the time you can find many post where I and AZ and others have given the same advice. Spend your hard earned money and learn it. There are no short cuts.

The difference is that it proves you are clueless and shouldn't work on refer units.

You came here to seek advice and it was given. You were advised to take refrigeration courses if you really wanted to learn this stuff. You are absolutely disrespectful. This is not a refrigeration forum. It is a Vending forum. If you want more advice on refrigeration from a forum, do the smart thing and go to a refrigeration forum. Otherwise, keep your disrespectful comments to yourself or I can almost guarantee you that you won't be posting here any more.

i was just disrespectul towards azvendor because of his response, it was all fine till then, read it again,

it was suggested that i look into ac school, i took that in, then i just asked if theres a dixie narco certified, or something more towards vending since ac tech schools concentrate more on home and commercial ac, much more complex than what i need at the moment...

You forgot to say "please"

If you what help on this forum, that is the special word!

This is a disrespectful comment. You can't come onto a forum and demand someone help you or shut up. Now apologize or I will formally ask for your ban.

im sorry azvendor... my comment was disrespectful... u saying "If you don't even know the correct terminology for the parts and procedures then you're not ready to do this yourself." rubbed me the wrong way, and my reaction was out of proportion....

what i shouldve replied is that is obvious idk the right terminology, but i can learn it, and obvious im not ready to do it myself, if i was i wouldnt be ask where to get that trainning..

and makes no sense that if i dont call the parts the proper term im not ready to work on in

im not ready is because idk the right procedures, not because i call a condenser, coil

The reason that you need to know the correct terminology is because you are missing parts.

There's the compressor, evaporator, condenser, dryer, cap tube, evaporator fan, condenser fan, and starting components. For a refrigeration unit to work properly, it must have the proper oil, the proper refrigerant, the proper pressures, and this doesn't even account for things like air leaks and ambient temperature which affect the "cooling" ability of a refrigeration deck.

I opened a book and watched many videos on BASIC refrigeration. I have spoken at length with professionals, even people who TEACH refrigeration. I eventually learned that, unless you are a genius, you must take classes to learn this stuff. Asking on a forum how to work on refrigeration is like asking someone on a forum how to do accounting, how to "work on engines, or any other skilled trade that generally requires some sort of training. The skilled trades are called skilled trades for a reason - they require skills which you must learn via some sort of education whether it be a formal education from a school or training from a mentor. There is too much that can go WRONG when fooling around with refrigeration and you can literally hurt yourself or someone else if you screw up.

With all due respect, you either need to take courses in refrigeration or you need a mentor to show you. You also need to check with Florida Law regarding recycling/capturing/releasing of refrigerant.

This isn't about not wanting to help. It's about preventing you from costly damage or possible injury.

Tnks... Again... From start i never asked how to fix it, from start all i asked is where to get Trainning besides ac Tech School.. Tnk u
