froob956
Just trying to see if there are any other vets around. I know there's special tax breaks/laws for us. Just trying to get some advice/help on what those might be. Also I love talking to other vets that went a similar route to what I'm attempting/hoping to go. froob956
Thanks for serving our country. cajun not to sound ungrateful for you appreciation, I don't deserve the thanks. Those who have given their life and risked their life are the ones who deserve that. I joined knowing the possibility that I'd have to do something along those lines but I did not. So I don't feel I deserve the thanks.
CajunCandy
No mater. I had three nephews serve in Irag and Afghanistan. They came back and I tell thanks all the time. Along with any veteran I come across. cajun

froob956
USAF 85-89 Did you happen to ever use any benefits for opening and or running a business? How about at all? I don't mean to ask you personal questions, I just figured I'd try to find out from some people who could have possibly been down the road before. BouncyBalls
No not at all. Although I am listed on VOB website. (Veteran Owned Business) I do use the "I'm a Veteran" line when locating. I earned it might as well use it I figure.

And dang, was hoping to get some help with info on them....I don't have the money to start out right now....oh well. I shall figure it out. Thanks. BouncyBalls
I think being a local business coupled with VOB helps. You just gotta buy a few machines and hit the streets and locate No big secret or tricks, just like any other business, you gotta roll up your sleeves and go do it! Honestly if I didn't make the one bad financial decision I did make while in (put my ex-fiances brothers car in my name, it's now my car....) I would be fine. $380 a month (paying 500-700 to get ahead and pay it off faster). If I wasn't for that I'd jump balls into to it. I'd have an extra 5-7k when I get out of the military...oh well. Gotta make do with what ya got I suppose.
BouncyBalls
You can start with $100 in bulk.
froob956
You can start with $100 in bulk. I've had a hard time finding decent machines in Cincinnati (already looking on craigslist, gonna have someone pick it up and hold it for me if I find a good deal on one). So I'd have to get a new one. I'd also like to start out with 5 or so at least....so i understand how it is to do multiple, starting out with one will give me a false sense on how it works to do multiple a day. That type of thing.
BouncyBalls
Start with single head gumballs first.
froob956
Start with single head gumballs first. Why do you suggest that? I know it's the highest profit margin, but I figured offering a 3 head where you can offer more products would getting a better response from store owners (more likely to get placed). BouncyBalls
Easier to place. Plus more versatile for future use on racks or doubles.
froob956
I guess I gotta find a good gumball machine to start out on. I know there's multiple forums around, but whats your personal suggest, for easy of use, and up keep? I'm good with my hands (mostly on small electronic parts but I can adapt haha). The local college here has business help as well, them they set you up with a mentor, business plan, special loans and so on for vets, and other areas. It's way over looked. All free. BouncyBalls
Special loans for vets aren't really all that special. My bank beat those all day long.
