CD jukebox license?

The jukebox License Office (JLO) requires a $450 annual fee for the rights to public performance of copyright music on a single CD jukebox.

ASCAP, BMI etc.

This does not apply to Download Jukeboxes.

It seems ironic that given the high cost of this requirement as compared to the low income from CD jukeboxes, their is no money left to purchase new CD's.

Another example of the lawyers getting their money first, or in this case, instead of the artists that they are protecting.
