Mars 6800c rejecting coins

I have a mars 6800c that keeps rejecting coins, occasionally it will accept a set of quarters but no credit given. Is this a tuning need or a replace the coin mech need? If its a replace do you have any good suggestions? Also if its tuning do you have a good well laid out tuning guide. Some said run the coins through twice and call it down others said go 20x. Thanks

Turn the machine OFF.

 Lower the Acceptor/Gate Assembly.

Short the set of tuning pins by touching both

simultaneously with the tip of a metal screwdriver/

tuning plug; MEI P/N 208240001 PAK 5. (See Figure

12 or Figure 13 on this page).

With the screwdriver/tuning plug still touching the

tuning pins, turn machine ON.

Remove the screwdriver/tuning plug when the

"normal" message appears on the display of the

machine.

Press the Acceptor/Gate Assembly back into position

until the spring clips engage.

The changer is now in the tuning mode. Now you are

ready to follow the Tuning Coin Sets.

Follow TUNING COIN SET listed below.

I guess maybe a better question on the tuning is, do I just depress coin return on all the Canadian and do I need to follow throw with other coins after the end? Do I end it somehow

If you aren't doing Canadian just drop 2 US each time

When it gets to the token part hit the coin return.

When you are done Hit the coin return a couple times, all good (you don't have to hit the coin return to end but it is an old habit i can't break)

I'm still trying to figure how you're supposed to plug the machine back in while holding a screw driver across those two pins

I would think just unplugging the coin mechanism at the door would do it then you can plug it right back in
