moondog
I recently pulled one of my last (thank god) Vendos off location because the compressor failed (I thought) Sodas were all at room temperature and replaced it with a Royal Merlin 768 which is working fine there so no electrical problems. This account really needed the larger machine anyway. So I get it home and get ready to swap with a spare I have sitting here and plug it in to see if the fans are running which would be an easy fix (I thought) The unit appears to be working fine in my driveway. I can't figure out why it wouldn't work on location - other than the fact that it's an accused Vendo. I'm hoping I don't have to swap this mother out as it seems much more difficult than a Royal or Dixie. I pulled the front bolt and the sucker wouldn't budge so there must be some more bolts hidden back there which appear nearly impossible to access from what I can see. I'm getting ready to sell this sucker and would like to know that it truly works before I pawn this pile of crap off on somebody else. Any thoughts? rmorris1953
There is only one bolt. Most likely it is just stuck. Read the recent topic here on the 501-E refrigeration problem. If it is a Embraco compressor the wires on the start relay or thermal overload maybe shorting out. Or a sticking cold control

lacanteen
If it's a model 511 or older you can get $75/ton for scrap iron.
