Glad to see things back on line. Will there be an email or other mass message sent to inform everyone? I know I had gotten less frequent on looking to see whether the forum was back. I figure there may be some who have given up.

Just a thought.

Should we expect a thread on what happened?

During the outage, somebody friended me on Facebook. She said she just signed up about a week before the site went down. She also asked my opinion about a Locator, but I didn't know the guy. I was going to let her know the site was back up, (before Casseri sent out the email,) but that facebook page seems to have vanished. (It didn't look new.)

I also received a friend request at almost the same time from a Benn Dover. Obviously I didn't accept. That Facebook page is still up, and as far as I can tell, doesn't have any info on it, no friends. I had a feeling that was the hacker.

The first thing I get get when I attempted to log back in was "YOU DON't HAVE PERMISSION FOR THAT"  I guess some things never change  ;D  ;D  ;D

A minecraft forum just isn't as fun as a vending forum.

Yeah, what the hell is mine craft anyway - sounds like a male version of scrap booking to me.

Her's is back up, and I just realized that the way I posted this, it might look like I was connecting events with her, but wasn't my intent. (We have a mutual friend outside VenDiscuss.)

I got a friend request from him also.

After he sent me a friend request, I asked if he knew what was up with the website. He never responded.

I don't think I caught everything he said, but I wasn't sure if he was the hacker, or a disgruntled member hiding his name. I kept thinking it was the former.

I didn't delete his request for about a week, both to have a link to check his Facebook page, to see if he would post something that would demonstrate who he was, or if he had some involvement, or if he would finally respond to my message. Nothing happened, his page was never updated, he had no friends. I decided there wasn't going to be any activity, or responses, so i deleted his request.

Currently there are a ton of Benn Dover Facebook pages out there, but since I sent him a message, I could see that he was still there.

"Benn Dover", "Ben Dover", and their derrivatives are classic troll names. They crop up on all sorts of websites out there, so pinpointing who did what via the username is hard to say. I'd expect the Facebook account was created specifically to mask the culprits' identity, so figuriong anything out from there is tricky at best. I'd love to know who had the stones to attack the information backbone of the vending industry, but who wouldn't at this point?
