RikaKazak
I called smart and they recommend a mars 2411 for the bill acceptor in my pirate's chest. I don't have a 2411, but I have a 2511. Will a 2511 work? What's the difference? (they're both 110 volt, I figured out that much, I just don't know the 4 vs. 5 difference)
Gs Vending
Unfortunately because the Mars 2511 is part of the vn (vending) series, it will not work. You need a Mars ae (amusement/gaming) series bill acceptor, like the 2411. Generally, Mars Bill acceptors with red labels on the side of the dip switches will work with amusement machines while blue labels are for vending machines. AZVendor
The 2411 is used because it is always enabled to accept bills without regard to any coin changer that controls it. In the 2500 series the validators are all controlled by sufficient change in the coin changer tubes and if there is not sufficient change (or even a coin changer in the machine) then the validator is inhibited and useless. I can send you a 2411 if you need one.
