dkochan
I bought an older, used Hot Stuff Crane that has a model # of WMH-188. I have been encountering intermittent E5 errors where the crane freezes and repeatedly plays, "You're a winner!" I have to power off and power on the crane to get the crane to work properly. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
havending
Not sure on that one. I would call Coast to Coast tomorrow. Hopefully easy fix. You have to be super careful with the auction cranes guys will rig them up to appear to work fine.
hanihotdog
Prize sensor error on the old coastal type hot stuff. It has the same internals as a toy soldier. You have to take off the three pin connector on top corner of board and arc the connector pins.
dkochan
Thanks, hanihotdog. How do I arc the connector pins once I remove three-pin connector to the prize sensor?
ronsidney
And you wOnt have a prize meter either with that fix. C2c had Eprom chips to fix it right way back when it happened but i still had fix hani mentioned on mine. Those cranes are the old tanks that keep on going with no problems other than the one problem you mentioned.
BouncyBalls
I have a toy taxi with the 3 prongs arced together for the same reason. Of the 3 pins it is the 2 on right that have to touch(arc) together. (On mine anyway)
dkochan
Thanks for the help, gentlemen. Your suggestions fixed the problem. Here is a photo the modification that eradicated the E5 error problem.
