MNvending
I've been in the vending business for a little over a year now and own 8 machines on 6 locations. I'm working on an account with a bank that wants vending in all of their branches. It sounds great but I'm concerned with how many people work at some of the different branches. The vending is going to be for the employees so I'm curious how many people should be at a location in order to consider putting a vending machine there? I've been thinking about putting combo machines at the bigger locations and using honor boxes at the smaller ones, but I'd feel better if I had a method to know where I should and shouldn't place a machine. Any advice would be great!

I would pass unless you can get the main office or the call center...Sent from my LG-H810 using Tapatalk

AZVendor
Bank branches typically do horrible, even with just soda. That's why you typically see mechanical machines in them as those are the only vendors that are happy with those slow locations.

AngryChris
I had honor boxes in about 8 banks 2 years ago. I had to pull about 4 because the banks weren't allowed to have the boxes anymore due to whatever reasons. I had to pull out about 3 more because they simply made no money. And I have two banks left. Both do anywhere from $5 - $15 each week. The truth is that they hardly have space for machines and banks feel as though they deserve special services because they are banks. I wouldn't dare put a vending machine in a bank. Here are some things to think about: -Depending on where they are located, you might have to wait for them to escort you to the machines. -A lot of banks don't want their employees carrying cash in their pockets. Apparently this is some kind of a way to reduce theft?!? No cash = hardly any vending. -A lot of bank workers like to LEAVE the bank to have lunch so that they won't be bothered during their lunch. -A lot of bank workers bring their own lunch. -The higher-end bank workers (loan officers, financial advisers, etc..) feel like they deserve to be treated special because they get paid more than other people. The same is true for law offices. -F#*! banks.
Refreshments Made Easy
Hello all, This is a several part response. I'm going to meet with the decision maker at a warehouse location with 150 plus employees (majority Hispanic ). They currently have 3 machines 2 sodas 1 snack. No commission. They want to see what I can bring to the table. I'm wanting to purchase new or newer equipment. If I get this location. But I am cautious of the huge expense for the machines. Do I ask for a contract so I know I can let those machines pay for themselves and start getting an ROI at the location? When doing an evaluation what do you guys present to him/her? What do you offer? Is it case by case? Please fill me in. Give me some tips and trade secrets... I also have a meeting with a warehouse with 250 plus employees plus lots of walk through traffic (truckers). They currently have six machines. They want me to present them an offer while including a few microwaves in the proposal. This is also for there other 3 warehouses that average the same amount of employees or more. First off, i already know am biting more than i can chew due to my capital and only doing vending this year...but Let's say I get these locations. Would it be wise for me to partner up with a person that has enough new or newer machines to satisfy there request? Please advise my fellow associates. I'm thinking of getting any contract of that magnitude first and then worry and hopefully within 14-30 days (RJT) to come up with a miracle like I usually do (like my other 7 machine location). Oh yeah...no bank locations...got it.
