Mirchai
Hello, first post so I'll try to get this right...I have a Dixie Narco 501T 280-8 model machine, single-price, 8 selection. Coin Validator - MEI TRC-6800(not the H). Bill Validator - MEI VMF1-L1-U2CS. Having a few issues which may or may not be connected. First problem occured from the beginning, validator would receive a bill. Pulling the bill away from the validator causes it to run (backwards like it's trying to spit out the dollar) but will not pull it in what-so-ever. Coin mech settings are as follow: Options - All 6 OFF (no $ coin, US only, High 25cent, low pulse, escrow on, escrow to vend). Price - down, up, down, up, down, down, down, down (50 cents). Low pulse cables are in use and plugged in correctly to my knowledge. Now I have been trying to find the source of the problem for quite some time and just the other day I had given up and just unplugged the validator completely, wrapped the cables up around it and continued vending with change only. It's right next to a dollar changer and figured I'd order a High level pulse cable and try that later. A couple days ago went to the machine and out of curiosity plugged validator in, powered up machine and holy smokes it took a dollar, made change, vended properly. I dont this approximately 10 times and everything worked smoothly. The next day I returned to switch the 25 cent switch to high(at the time it was on low) so that plenty of change would be available to the customers. Closed the door, tested the validator and nothing....same scenario. So I switched everything just like i had it, powered up again and nothing again. After several frustrating hours of trial and error I finally just had enough and closed it up to vend with change only. Places my foot on the bottom of the door and pressed in slightly and the sold-out lights lit up, let off the bottom of the door and they went out, did this repeatedly and was consistent. Came back later and tried and it wouldn't do it anymore. Now, to my question, I'm guessing this is all tied to the same problem, wiring harness? Any help would be greatly appreciated and I know this is a complicated one...if I have left any key information out just let me know. Thanks for looking. CajunCandy
It's not complicated, problem is your old style dollar bill validator. It needs to be updated to new style mars 110 volt one. AZVendor can help you with this. cajun
AZVendor
The validator problem is certainly within the validator to some extent due to it's obsolescence. You might also have a coin mech issue with the nickle tube not enabling the validator. Additionally, you may have a very early 6800 since you said there is not an H in the model and that means that the validator harness was added to what was an original 6800, so the mech is really old too. The sold out problem when pushing on the bottom of the door means you probably have the door harness either pinched in at the bottom left corner of the cabinet (check it for damage) or you have a bad connection in the harnesses or a broken wire somewhere in the harness. The first two are most likely.

I can open the door and put change in the coin mech and vend it by the buttons on the door and it will drop a coke. I assumed it had some kind of kill switch for that, but I have yet to see one in any of the manuals that I've seen... What would be the best coin mech to use with the validator? I have a MEI TRC-6000 as well but no harness to connect the power as it is different than the power supply plug on the 6800? The coin mech was sent off and refurbished in August 2015. One more concern I had was the Red Light under the control panel on the coin mech that flips down says Blocker and it is ON, until enough money is inserted to purchase a product, light then goes off, after vending comes back on...can't find anything on that in any manual. Thank you both for taking your time to reply and answer my silly questions.

The only thing wrong with the validator is that I was loading the coins directly into the shoots thinking the sensor would detect enough nickels to activate the validator. A more experienced vendor came to help me out and within 5 seconds had it working. We loaded the nickels through the top of the coin mech (10 nickels) and works everytime now. Lesson learned....with the older machine, coin mech, and validator it just took the coin mech counting the coins to activate the validator. Also, I wanted to state that I have it set on LOW LEVEL PULSE (with appropriate harness) for anyone reading having the same problems. Thanks again for the information and help.
