CapitalCityVendingLLC
Hey guys. First time posting but have read the forum for months now. I got most of the information I need (I think) but just wanted to double check before I made some purchases.I have a bunch of USI vending machines (3013A, 3014A, 3015A). The dollar bill acceptors I have with all of them are the coinco ba32sa. I have very little when it comes to working replacements so I heard that Mars has a better working acceptor. I believe the model was the vn 5211, or vn 5202.Here starts the questions. Does anyone know if the acceptor will fit the USI machines as my coinco's do? Would I need to get some type of harness or faceplate? I am pretty sure I will be able to wire them correctly because I have an abundant amount of wires so I think I'm good in that department. What is the difference between the 5211/5202? Is the difference just the voltage? Do either one of those models accept 5's?I was just going to buy a new one on eBay but if anyone has what I need just PM me and maybe we can work something out. Any help would be much appreciated.WIll *** Moderator note - Duplicate thread deleted ***
AZVendor
The Coincos are good validators when rebuilt correctly. If you want to upgrade them though you can email me for information on upgrading them to Mars validators and I can send some to you. My email is rbepic4gatgmaildotcom. CapitalCityVendingLLC
Thanks for the response AZV. I have a bunch (20-25) of the same validator (BA32SA) that have quit working for various reasons over the years. We used to have a company work on them for roughly $30 a validator, which kind of worked, but we would have problems with a lot of them later down the road. A couple of our different machines have mars validators and we rarely have problems with those. I basically don't want to dump a bunch of money on fixing old coinco validators over and over again. Figured I could buy some new mars validators and be done with it. Pay a little more for piece of mind and a better product. What do you think? CajunCandy
It takes and adapter to fit a Mars VN2511 to a USI 3014A. A couple of plates and a plastic front to fill the hole. The harness should be a 18 pin plug that plugs directly into a mars. May have to turn on or off switch 7 or 8 I don't quite remember. AZvendor should be able to help you with your needs. cajun

I jettison 10-20 Coinco BAs every month. My monthly bill acceptor turn over has cut in half since I started this 2 years ago.

CapitalCityVendingLLC
I found a bunch of coinco BA32BA in my garage. From what I've read on here, the only difference between the BA and SA is the face-plate (Beverage & Snack). I think I can just take the SA face off with a couple screws and put it on the BA's that I have that work. Then just find the proper wires. Anything I'm missing with that approach? CapitalCityVendingLLC
Just bought and received a vn 2502 validator. Quick question. The one I bought is a vn 2502 u5. I have a couple vn 2502 u3 in some of my machines. Does anyone know the difference with the u3 vs. the u5?
AZVendor
The u5 refers to a 500 bill stacker that has a side opening bill box. The u3 is a 300 bill stacker that opens on the top. The stackers are interchangeable so unless this is a new validator it's very likely that the original stacker isn't on the validator but it doesn't matter unless you have a space constraint. CapitalCityVendingLLC
Gotcha. So basically nothing. I didn't know if there was a deeper, mechanical/technical meaning to it. I think I need this cord for the new validator that I just got. http://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/111771651738 I have the other cord that goes it the control board. Now I just need to try and get it to fit snug when I hook it up to the machine. I'm missing a plastic piece. Gonna look for it in the morning and see if it fits. AZVendor
The harness you need depends entirely on the machine you're connecting it to. Most of the 24 volt MEI validators need to have the communication line connected on the upper pins of the validator. The harness in your link is generally only for providing 24v to the validator in a pulse-type connection.

If the harness that plugs into your Coinco looks like this then the power harness you linked to is all you need to connect the MEI. Send me your info and I will send an extra that I have. drvend@att.net
CapitalCityVendingLLC
Ok, Got all the proper cords and what not. Now I'm just missing one little plastic piece. My machines are USI's (3013, 3014, 3015's). They have control panels on the right side of the machine that you can pull out. What I need is a plastic piece that helps my new mars vn2502 validator fit snug with the control panel front. As you can see the first picture is the old plastic piece that worked with the coinco validator. I need a simliar plastic piece that will fill the gaps that can be seen in pictures 3-5. Does anyone know if this plastic piece that will help a mars validator fit onto my USI is out there? If someone has some, I'd love to buy a couple. Thanks
AZVendor
There is no trim piece that fits the way you want it to. These machines were built prior to the VN2500 bottler bezel. What you can do it put a VFM bezel on the validator and then you can use a VFM trim piece that was available for this machine. Unfortunately Coinco didn't want to play nice and make their bezels the same shape as the Mars VFMs so the Coinco validators required their own trim pieces. Is there a reason you didn't just use a rebuilt Coinco? I can send you a couple of the trim pieces for VFMs if you want to go that way. Otherwise just leave the gap if it's not too noticeable from outside the machine. Email me at rbepic4gatgmaildotcom if you want the VFM trim pieces. CapitalCityVendingLLC
I just have had better luck with mars validators so I wanted to see if I could slowly convert over some of my coinco validators to mars. I have a bunch of coinco validators that quit working for one reason or another over the years. I guess I'll send them off to get worked on again. I ordered one on ebay recently and it'd didn't even work. IDK, just thought there might be a little plastic piece that would solve all my problems. Can you send me a picture of that trim vfm piece that you are talking about?
