Hi All,

I need some advice, one location has agreed to remove canteen vending machine (they are unhappy with their service that is what they have told me) and put mine, they just confirmed it this.

All the vending machines are going into break room at the moment they have two Vendo 621/721 and one 4 wide snack machine.

The space is 10 feet wide  and they have all kinds of microwaves and  fridges in there which they cannot remove it seems.

So can I get by placing just 1 501e and one AMS 39 and do I need two  soda machines and one snack like now.The location is less than mile away.

The only thing I am worried is since it is in lunch room and there over 120 people working. One machine might create a jam during lunch.

Thanks in advance

The snack sales must be pretty slow if they only have a 4 wide snack there. Or Canteen's problem is that they won't put in a proper sized machine. The 2 sodas are probably from Coke and Pepsi so you'll need to provide both lines of sodas which you'll probably do anyway. You can tell them you will start with one soda with mixed flavors and add a second machine if sales warrant it. You will be giving much better service and may never need a second machine. Canteen tries to stretch their service intervals as far as they can and probably used 2 sodas to just get by. You'll be fine with the 2 machines until you know if you need more. Congratulations on stealing a Canteen account. It's really not hard to do and you should look for some more to steal.

If I pick up a new account with several machines like you have I usually ask how often the previous vendor services the account which gives me an idea of the volume the business does.  AZ is right about the possibility of them having 2 drink  machines so they can service it less often.  Personally I like servicing my accounts every other week but I do have a few I need to service on a weekly basis.  Canteen does get there machines from Coke and Pepsi, at least in the area I live in.  The only probably about starting with one machine and mixing the flavors is if Coke or Pepsi finds you might get in deep water with them.  The machines you get from the bottler you are only suppose to put that bottlers drinks in the machine.  It can also screw up your case count per machines.  Coke and Pepsi both require each machine to have an average of 100 cases a year sold per machine.  That is corp. policy.  Where I live the Coke operation is a franchise and they actually require 150 cases per machine.  The Pepsi franchise here doesn't provide machines to 3rd party vendors.

I'd pair a Royal 804 with an AMS 5 wide.  The Royal should hold almost as much as two smaller machines and still give you nine selections.  If they warrant more choices, I'd keep an eye out for a Baby Bevmax which should still fit in the current space allotment.

Moondog.....there are Royal 804 that have 9 selections?  Ive only seen the 660's and the 804's that have 8 selections

Most of the one's I've seen have nine selections across 12 columns.  However there could be some oddball specialty Coke doors out there that may have only eight selections.  All the Merlin IV's have ten selections but the larger Merlins (768) are hard to find as Coke only used the GIII models.  I own both and much prefer the GIII's.  There's a bunch of combinations that you;ll find on the GIII's, I even have one 660 GIII that has 12 selections even though it's still set up for Space to Sales (which you can't really use with 12 selections)
