EZR
Hi all from a new Member from Down-Under! I am at my wits end and am hoping someone may have a solution. Thanks in advance! I have a Wittern 3168A snack machine with a CB300-SATL satellite drink vendor attached. I am having a problem with the drink vendor. If I put money into the machine, and vend one of the drinks, it gives me the product, and then says "Make alternative selection" and the credit stays on the screen. This allows me to vend another drink for free - unlimited! Not good for profits! I have replaced the drop sensor board - it works. I have replaced the diode board - it works, as the motors run. On both test vend and purchase, the motor runs, drops the product, the light flashes on the drop sensor board, the motor stops for 1 or 2 seconds, then starts up again, as if still trying to vend a product. The motor does about 2/3 turn and stops. The message of "Make another ..." then appears, along with the 3 beeps indicating an error. I am vending bottles, can/bottle is on, range is set to H-H, the optic is turned off, the depth is single. Please help if you can. It might just save my sanity! ozvendor
Does it happen on all selections of the drink machine or just one? Whereabouts in Australia are you?
cvending
Sounds as though the drop sensor is not cancelling the credit. The first drink falls, it doesn't see it, tries again and then takes selection out of service as sold out. You will get the make another selection message. I would try another drop sensor first. EZR
Hi Guys! ozvendor, it happens on all selections. the machine is around Smithfield in Sydney. cvending, I have tried 2 drop sensor boards already. Any other ideas? Thanks!
AZVendor
Since you have replaced the drop sensor, sensor board and diode board then your problem is probably a bad umbilical harness between the machines or perhaps a bad logic board in the snack. I'd bet on the umbilical harness.

matthew0582
The wire that goes between both machines for the drop sensor. have you called tech support?
EZR
Yes, I have called vendnetusa and they are stumped as well. I am in the process of getting the joining harness, so we'll see how that goes ... Thanks for all your replies and offers of assistance! :-)
EZR
Hello all! Well, the good news is I got the new harness very quickly from the US. The bad news is ... installed it, and ... the same problem! :( Any other ideas, please? All suggestions welcome! Thanks in advance.
AZVendor
Have you ever adjusted the drop sensor sensitivity? I don't see anywhere that you mention that. There is a tiny adjustable potentiometer next to the drop sensor LED that is turned with a tiny flat blade screwdriver. Refer to your manual for which way to adjust it but you need to adjust it to be more sensitive. This is because your sensor is apparently not detecting the impact of products which would then cancel the vend. Because this isn't happening your machine doesn't see the vend and keeps on vending. When the vend times out the credit is left on the machine. If any motor is not at "home" when the vend time expires then that motor will show "make another selection" until you can get it to home itself. I'm surprised that Vendnet didn't suggest that you adjust your drop sensor, but then some of the tech guys there aren't as sharp as the old ones were. EZR
Hi AZVendor I have adjusted the potentiometer with little amounts and large amounts. The adjustment changes the way the motor behaves. Closer to the red light being permanently on, the slower (the more resistance) the motor turns. The further away from the red light, the more it turns. It will turn, then stop when it detects a drop, then starts up again. What is interesting, is that the machine will still allow you to make the same selection, even if it has said "Make alternate selection". I really have no idea! I am probably going to disconnect the drink machine and put a stand-alone one there. The snack machine side is working perfectly. Does anyone know where I can source a control board for this machine? It would seem that is the problem.
AZVendor
If the motor does stop when the drop is detected then the restarting of the motor is probably due to an issue with the logic board as you suspect. It's almost as if the selection is being made again even though it isn't. Your snack machine is a Snackmart 6 board but you probably need a different eprom in it for your currency. I have the board in stock but you would probably need to put your eprom in it. Sometimes these problems are in the eprom but I doubt that this one is. Have you asked Vendnet if the SM6 board can do this by stopping the vend when the product impact is made and then restarting as though the impact never came? EZR
Hi AZVendor. Vendnet are starting to think it is the board. Especially as we have ruled out the harness. Here is a link to the photos of the boards. Is this the one you have? https://photos.google.com/album/AF1QipOlfmG5MI14VehHmFQIqqDOnqM5LIXeklodjmYI Thanks! AZVendor
Yes, that is a SM6 logic board which I do have. If you can't find one there then let me know and I can ship one to you.
EZR
HI AZVendor! I can't get one here. I can arrange for the shipping. The company I used for the shipment of the umbilical cord were great! What would you want for the board? And how can I pay you?
AZVendor
The board exchange is $189 plus shipping. You can pay with Paypal which might be easier as you are out of the US. I have no idea what the shipping will cost but I use the US Postal Service for international stuff.
