lionvending
I have recently acquired a Northwestern Triple Play that I reconditioned and a Vendstar machine. I am wanting to get these placed in restaurants. What products would be recommended in these? My traditional 850ct gumballs wouldn't work, so I was thinking candies. Has anyone tried the smaller gumballs in these machines?
deee_z
Skittles, peanut M&Ms and hot tamales.
lionvending
Thank you for your reply. I have considered hot tamales for some of my other machines, so this may be a good fit. Do you know of a good supplier for these? I don't think my local Sams sells them in bulk.
PerformaVending
Mike and Ikes, Skittles, and something else- I've been partial to runts of late. A triple play can be switched to 850ct with a gumball wheel, and I would recommend keeping the 850 count in it if at all possible, as the sales on that will be better than candy in most locs. Good luck!
Stengel
Can you link me to a gum ball wheel for a vendstar?
deee_z
Walmarts and larger grocery stores sell them, take a stroll down the candy aisle.
musser
You can put a capsule wheel in the Northwestern and NW also makes a cab back for the machine
sweetstop
Can you link me to a gum ball wheel for a vendstar? I can do 1" GB wheels for vendstars for you $25 for forum members, free shipping PM if needed
PerformaVending
Can you link me to a gum ball wheel for a vendstar? They didn't make many gumball wheels for vendstar units- most sold online are very expensive (barring the one's Sweetstop is selling). Those that are out there are prone to jams and other problems. To vend gum out of a vendstar, you'll want to vend gum you can move through a candy wheel. 1080 count gum or "chicle" style gum will work better, and be a better alternative to traditional 850 count/1" gum. Stengel
Ok that makes sense. I will try that and if it doesn't work well I will get in touch with you sweetstop. Thank you.
sweetstop
yes the ones made for vendstar originally will jam, thats why I made a better mouse trap. I have mine all over the place out there and work great for me. the key is the agitator springs and securing the wheel from riding up. also not trying to boost sales (haha) but I never had luck with the smaller GB's 1" is the better seller by far. I inherited a bunch of VS on route years back so i needed to make them work for me. Also been testing a toy wheel with very good success so far. lionvending
My local Walmart does not sell Hot Tamales in bulk form. The only size they sell is in small bags and theater boxes. That is why I was asking for a source. I did find some on Amazon though. They have 8 lbs for $26.43, or 4.5 lb for $11.69. I think I will just get two of the 4.5 lb bags: 9 lb for $23.38. Silly Amazon

That's brilliant work Sweetstop! Good luck on that cap wheel- that would be a really cool thing to play with on some machines!
