dapreachaman
would you ever ask a business owner about removing an apparently abandoned machine? At one location I have there is a vendstar that has been empty for more than 3 months. I have called the phone number and get no response. There is in another spot a V-Line 3 head that does nothing and has not been serviced in more than 3 or 4 months. How long would you wai until you asked to remove them for the business owner? Or would you even ask?
AmuseStar Vending Co
I have removed a few when they asked me. I would never ask. But, I would say well over a year empty. 3-4 months is a normal service cycle for most. Kyle

I have have some great machines and rarely are they empty."
dapreachaman
it sounds presumptous to ask now that i read it. When i placed at a location the manager told me that one machine had been empty for several months and they had no idea where the guy was. This location does 75 a month for me in candy and another 60 in buzz bites. so how he could leave it is beyond me. the other machine is sitting in a lobby with no traffic and all the candy is obviously old. the manager said he hasnt seen the guy in a while and was wondering about it as well. This stirred the question for me.
sterling
I had an owner not let me put a machine in due to there was one there that hadn't been serviced in a long time. All the product was in bad shape. I went back a year later that same machine was still there not serviced. The owner begged me to take out of there for her. I told her I won't take another person's machine. I tried my keys out of curiosity. The candy section worked but not the money. I then found a # on the machine and someone answered! They came and got the machine in a few days. I guess they forgot about it. I still didn't get the location.
b00stzx3
Why/how do you forget aout a machine? Thats like throwing money away.
BluePlate
Why/how do you forget aout a machine? Thats like throwing money away. I think you would be surprised how many times this happens. I bought a route a while back, since I bought the route the guy has called me 3 times (yes 3) with locations he "forgot" about. One was a 5 foot spiral with $90 in it! AmuseStar Vending Co
I have done it before. Placed it, and forgot about it. I have also left machines unlocked, forget to take the money out and remember 40 miles away, all kinds of crazy stuff you do when your in a hurry! b00stzx3
Yeah, driving awya and forgetting. But completley abandoning a little money machine is ridiculous. Every little bit counts, and thats bad rep for your company to neglect your responsibilities and put the business owner/manager in a bad spot (just taking up space!). Beer980
Sometimes you can luck into a deal on those neglected machine. I did here a few month back and have now scored five 1-800 machines for $50 each. I have a post about it here: http://vendiscuss.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=2518&forum_id=
