Stengel
Has anyone ever had a eport cc reader (g9? I believe) on a vendo 511 give away drinks for free after you swipe a credit card? The machine works fine with cash/coins. I lost about a case of red bull to this problem before I found out why.
AZVendor
Exactly what is happening? When you swipe a card does the card reader put a credit on the display equal to the highest price in the machine? When they make a selection does the card reader say that the transaction was completed? Do you have to press cancel to complete a sale due to some credit still showing on the card reader after the sale? Do you have multivend turned on in the machine (used to have to do that)? Do any sales come through settlement to USAT?
Stengel
I just got this machine set up. When you swipe a card it accepts it and says there is a credit on the screen, then you push a button, the price changes to 0.00 and Venda product. Then the credit goes away. You do not have to push cancel to end the credit, it did it on its own. I will have to check if I have multi vend on, but I know the eport is set up to accept multi vend up to 3 items. No sales cane through on eport. Someone tried to tell me it overcharged them on their statement, so that's why I checked. Ended up not even charging them apparently. Does all that make any sense? AZVendor
You have a USAT problem then. The display should at least say that the transaction was completed. It sounds like you might be losing the signal too as the modem will have to get an authorization on the card. Maybe it's prematurely authorizing the card? Have you done an RSSI test of signal strength? You should always do that before putting any card reader out or you'll do all the installation work only to find you have a bad cell signal making the card reader useless. There are high gain antennas to use but that's about it for help with weak signals.
Stengel
I only have one other machine with the cc reader. It is in the same building in the other break room. It works fine. I don't know how to do a rssi test. How would I do that?
AZVendor
It's the button on the modem that shows an antenna and a signal strength like a cell phone does. Press that button and it will start the RSSI test. Read the manual that came with it for information.
