westlakevending
I was at sams club today and the price of PMM and Plain MM sky rocketed to 9.14 a bag not including taxes. The bags were 7.88. The current price of 9.14 w/o taxes makes each oz. 16 cent with tax .18 cents? How are other v endors adapting to the economy with PMM and Plain MM Most of my #1 sellers have PMM or Plain. Im thinking of taking them off the route theres not much profit in them i am currently vending 6-8 what do you vendors think i should do take them off or what i was shocked seeing these prices ???? pdavid
Hmm, I was in Sam's this past weekend and they were still 7.50 a bag.
Beer980
Then they will be going up soon pdavid. When the current supply at each runs out it looks like they are bumping it up. Buy some now before it happens. Mine still has the pick cancer ones for the $7.88 price. I am going to go buy some of them and mix them in to stretch it out some more before I have to adjust the vend. This may be the last year before we need to change over to a .50 vend. yerda
You should feel lucky, those of us without a Sam's club near us have to go to Costco. A 56 oz bag there costs 11 dollars.
gsnwag
I agree Beer, here in the South we also see, as the current supply ends the price is rising. The Baton Rouge area is 9.14 for 56 oz. whereas some parts of New Orleans are still 7.88 and others parts have already risen to 9.14.
mwinn33
Has anyone sold just the pink PMMs? If so, did the sales change? I can get the pink ones for about 5.60 a bag. I was thinking about just putting those in a machine and putting one of the pink ribbon labels on it to add an additional charity on top of NCCS that I do. philo
That's odd. I was in Costco yesterday and picked up both types of mm's, plain and peanut. Price was still 7.88 per 56 oz bag. Regards, Philo
pdavid
Sounds like I'm hauling a** to Sam's after work.
Beer980
It is the same size bag TBird for the pink ones. Just a special cancer issue of the PM&M. I suggest mixing them with the regular before going all pink. They will not last too long until they are gone anyways. It will be a temporary fix at best until they are all gone. takeabreak
I just went on line in my area and still shows $7.79 for both PMM and Reg M&M. The dark Chocolate kind did change to $9.14 however. Hopefully the others don't follow suite but I am sure they will. This is really going to hurt my business. Any word on any other products going up? I don't go by the web site. The store around here advertises Runts but they haven't stocked them in over a year. The best way to find out is when you do your shopping at the store. Quarter Master
I know I spoke of this back in August '08, but click the link and read about the price increase in Vending Times. Also notice the article states that package quantities are going down. pdavid
Weird, I just returned from Sam's and the price on PMM's actually went down from 7.50 to 7.14.
westlakevending
ok i see that sams has gone up across the board on their chocolate prices but how are other vendors making a profit. I dont understand how you other vendors are making a profit on PMM and if so how many are you vending?
bacho
westlake Here's a link to other discussions about the same subject. You can make a profit, just don't expect the same sales when you vend less. http://vendiscuss.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=3071&forum_id=1&highlight=pmm+prices
davidsurvz
I vend 1/2 OZ. per 25 cent vend. I have for the last year or so. People still buy my Pmm's. I wish I could sell more than I do but I do have a few locations where my Pmm's do great at 1/2 OZ. per vend. I have had a few $20 + months at one of my locations for Pmm's. Just try it and see how it goes for you. It works for me. I know it won't work for everyone at every location but it doesn't hurt to experiment with your vend amounts. You have to remain as profitable as you can on your products. David Oh, the other thing I do (which I'm sure most of you also do or are aware of) is I only sell Pmm's in double or triple head machines along with much more profitable candy primarily gumballs and or Skittles. AmuseStar Vending Co
I have seen other vendors jumping up to 50¢ on all PMM/MM products. At $9 a bag, I would not be far behind. Prices have stayed down, and have not moved around alot on what I buy from sams. All generic candy, however. Kyle
T BIRD
I am going to start charging 50 cents for pmms. I will open the vend up a bit also.

I hope I am wrong. When I inserted 2 quarters over and over and over again, sometimes if I put just one in it would turn and vend. We will see. I actually had only the mech to practice with since I did not have an Easy Pro handy. But still that really does not make a difference. Anyway to tell you the truth Kyle, I am done with XYZ. I can never reach them, their customer service absolutely stinks IMO, and I have had too many issues with the coin mechs and top locks. I just do not feel comfortable running them long term. I am leaning towards simply doing triples by putting 3 heads on a stand. Sorry for the rant and going off topic folks.:?
Larman
I just bought PMM at BJ's for $7.19 a bag.
Jax Snacks
I talked to a marketing guy at my local Sams club. He said all MMP will go up in price once the existing stock is sold. He also told me that "it's not Sam's fault"! The Mars Company raised the price and will not budge. He also told me that "we try very hard to get the best price for the consumer". All I can say is that there is power in numbers. Maybe if we all send a message to Sam via their web site and complain about it (but keep it professional). Also, send them this link for this MMP clone and let's try to get them to stock this product as well. http://www.fordgum.com/product_detail.aspx?productID=514955 Jax
dperry
I've been thinking about trying boston baked beans instead of plain peanuts or PMM's. Has anybody tried them? You used to be able to get them at Sams, but I don't see them there anymore. I've checked with A&A and they sell them. The 13,900 count case is 14lbs and goes for $54. So the price seems prohibitive to me if I sell them at 1/2oz.
