AngryChris
Has anyone serviced hair salons? I have a prospective account with about 30 chairs. There were at least 8 people there and I think they train people. It gets busier later in the day when customers start coming in. I can't get a good gauge for sales but I'm estimating 60-100 per week.
CajunCandy
I tried to get a drink machine in a hair salon. I knew the lady who owned it and she let them vote on it and no was the vote. Good luck! cajun
AZVendor
It will only be worth a small soda machine like a 276.
Southeast Treats
30 chairs sounds busy... if they are all in use. Not sure how much the customers will drink, may be mostly the employees/ students....
lacanteen
If you have a machine, see if you can try it for 30 or 60 days. I would not make a large investment on an unknown location.
AngryChris
The place looked pretty busy for being 9:30am but I think a lot of the people both cutting and being cut were students/faculty doing their training. I don't expect it to be a barn burner but I also don't think it will do bad. I know who the previous vendor is and I can't imagine they would have stayed as long as they did if the account was bad. I think they either needed the equipment or they got sick of service calls for their faulty machines. The only thing that concerns me as that some of the products cause their change and/or bills to be dirty and jam up the validators or coin mechs. That's about the only reason why I can see the machines breaking down as often as the customer claimed. I have a 501-E and a national (474?) combo machine with a broken refrigeration deck and I figured I could use that without dispensing cans and see how things go. The owner acted like the price I proposed for 20 oz bottles was too high but I basically told him take it or leave it lol. I'm done doing people favors on pricing. As soon as you ask about price increasing, they say they'll look for someone else. The relationship goes to crap, you pull your machines, and they accept a much higher price from the next vendor. Whatever you do make sure you use a Mars validator. No Coinco's. The hairspray will ruin the belts and plug up the optics. Also, put a filter over the condenser to stop the hairspray. Hairspray is your enemy there.

I don't think the hair spray will be a factor with the condenser but I can definitely see hairspray affecting the belts as people put their bills into the machine.
