tkaman2
Hi, I have been looking at picking up some used DI machines off Craigs List but I'm not sure they will be worth their cost. I have 25 tripples on location and they average around $15 per machine (range from $2.50 - $35) every 4 weeks. If I have locations that just have a single head machine selling breath-freshening gum will that make it worth the trip to service the machine? A couple of my thoughts... either service is less frequently then 4 weeks, or, just place a DI machine at my existing locations which have tripple head machines (most of which don't sell gum already) provided its ok with the business. Anyone who currently has DI machines, how do they do compared to locations with say a tripple head machine or a Terminator or similar multi-selection machine? Do you look forward to servicing them or do you dread servicing them? And the finale to my mult-part question, if you could buy 19 of them for $20 each could you possibly lose? It sounds too good to be true, but if the machines only make $5 a month then I'm thinking it might be more work then its worth even though the machines cost next to nothing. Thanks for your oppinions! Dave
Quarter Master
Dave, You have some good questions and it looks like you want to expand. That's great. The DI gum seems to be a "niche" product in that it sells well in certain locations. It is targeted towards teens and adults. Any place that has small kids might not do as well. IMO if you want to try this and you can get the deal you stated, I say go for it because that's a really good price. Good luck to ya !
T BIRD
$20 each is very good. I am selling one for $30. You have to find the right location for DI. Beauty parlors, restaurants, bars, etc.
Gerald
T Bird Since you are selling a dentyne ice machine for 30 dollars does that mean you dont like the results it gets you. And if you dont mind me asking what are they? Or is it just to hard to place for you because of the niche market? What is it why are you selling it. Thanks Gerald
T BIRD
I am simply switching the DI machine out with a NW60 machine that will dispense capsules of Dentyne. I just serviced a DI location that did $40 for 5 weeks. Another one that did $37.00 for a month. ( DI and Certs ).
Beer980
As an option to your single head try a double. I have two DI/Certs doubles out there. Both average $20 a month for me. My first one was in a family type sports bar but I lost that a few months ago due to adding more seating. The other one is in an appartment clubhouse/office type area. It is right between the leasing office area and the free computer room. If you decide to buy the machines give polecat a PM for a hand on making them into doubles. Just tell him how many Certs machine decal set ups you need and how many bags of product to send. They also can sell you the double bracket that fits the DI single stand. Also think healty areas to place them like fitness centers or health club type locations.
Gerald
T bird, Those are good results on your DI locations. But I am still confused why you would switch the DI machine out for a NW60? Does it hold more or jam less or what? Gerald
T BIRD
I dont like the Superpro DI machine or the stand. I like the gum though.
Gerald
T bird, I dont mean to keep asking the same thing but I am thinking of buying some DI machines and am specifically wondering why you dont like them. Thank You. Gerald

T BIRD
Its $30 each for the head only. I have two of them. No stands. You are much better off buying a simple cast iron stand for them. Kai has first dibs on them right now.
guile
I have to agree with T-bird on the quality of these machines. If I could get them for that price, I would take them in a heartbeat. With that being said they misvend a LOT. Over time, the gum produces "dust" that starts to kind of screw the way it vendz. I like Johnny's idea of doing a NW w caps. g
