TKK
The display only shows like 4 dashes and nothing works. Yet when u reatart bulb works and bv cycles. Could it be the board?
AngryChris
It could be. On some machines, they won't function if the coin mech isn't working. The first things I would do is power down/power up. Swap the coin mech. Check obvious connections. Try pressing service mode button. I don't think the LCM has it but some machines have small breakers inside too and you need to check those. If nothing changes, replace the board.
TKK
I tried the service mode and doesnt do anything. The coinmech had no power cuz the led wasnt on. Is it true that the regular boards turn mdb with just a harness?

Is it true that the regular boards turn mdb with just a harness? You can't simply say that boards turn MDB with just a harness. Here's what I do know: Machines that are "MDB-ready" (pretty much any machine less than 15 years old) are capable of hooking up to MDB with the proper harness. Something old like an AP 7600 was designed before MDB and was never meant to process the MDB protocol. It's like trying to hook up a USB cord to an old computer. Depending on how old it is and what board it is, you MIGHT be able to get a special board that plugs into the control board that allows you to use MDB devices, but that's an expensive upgrade and you may as well upgrade the entire board in that case. The LCM series is known to have more than one type of board as far as I understand, so answering your question is difficult as it depends on what kind of board you have. I want to say that you CAN install an MDB harness on LCM boards regardless of what's in it but I am not sure. Someone else here would have to confirm that. I believe the LCM series was the era which AP started to make their boards MDB-ready, so some boards have them and some don't. I also believe the National 157/158 was the era in which National did the same. I think around the year 2000, everyone was transitioning.
AZVendor
Bad logic board. Let me know if you need one.
Snickers
The early LCM boards did not have have MDB capability. The metal cover over the board will say MDB and have the pins on the board for that $10 harness if yours is capable.
AZVendor
If it has the large capacitor that sticks out through the logic board cover then it should be MDB capable. The early LCM boards did not have that capacitor.
