afitz30
Hello All, I'm new to the vending business, I just purchased a total of 6 machines (3) Soda and (3) snack. I have 3 in actual locations and need to place the other 3 which I'm diligently working on now. Of the 3 snack, 2 are USI 3014A, they are in the process of being refurbished and I'm debating on whether to upgrade the machines to be able to take CC. The heartburn is I could upgrade and place right away or wait and purchase newer models after I'm better established? The reason why I am at a crossroad is 2 of my drink machines have ePort readers on them and it would make sense to have complimenting sets on location. And the smart thing to do would be pair the cashless soda/snacks together to increase sales. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance. AZVendor
The original boards in the 3014s aren't MDB so no, you can't put card readers on them. InOne Technologies might have a retrofit board for the 3014/3015 that will allow it but that's a lot of money to put into a really old machine. afitz30
AZ, thanks for the feedback. That was my original thought as well just want to be cost effective and maintain a customer base. AF
AngryChris
They do make an InOne board for that.
Anacapa Vending
Not a fan of the usi 3014 at all... Chalk it up to a learning experience. .
tc vending
I have 8 usi 3014 don't think I would put card readers on them to old but they are tough machines.
afitz30
Anacapa, they have held up so far, actually thinking about purchasing 2 more, it's just that they are dated but built fairly well. I have a supplier near me that want to shift me towards a new style machine with the ePort readers already included but the price is $1700 for each. I'm just starting out so keeping my cost at a minimum is the key, I purchased 2 of the 3014's for $800 and will probably buy another 2 for the same price....as I said so far so good.... TC, I probably won't but just trying to balance the cost and customer but agree they a re built like tanks! They do make an InOne board for that. I am aware but the $365 is a deterrent to purchase, want to see how much of a return I get before I put more into it.....

AngryChris
Upgrading a 3015 to use cashless is pretty much not doable without a board upgrade.
