jjohns39
Hey guys, New to the forum here. I've been lurking for a few weeks and now figured it's time to join in. Anyway, I recently purchased a Wulitzer BL 645 and I am having issues getting it set up. I am still very new to all vending so please bare with my inexperience. Originally when I purchased the machine it would only take exact change (Bills and/or Coins) and it would not return any change. I've been going through the manual all day today and trying to figure out why this might be and I cannot for the life of me find this setting. During this process I have now inadvertently deactivated the bill acceptor. I've been through the manual numerous times now and I just can't seem to figure out where I am going wrong. So now I can only use exact change, and I cannot use the bill acceptor. Im hoping that someone may know what my issue might be. Im using a Conlux bill acceptor and Conlux Five coin mech Thanks in advance, Josh
AZVendor
I'm sorry that you got yourself a Wurlitzer machine before you found this forum and did research or asked for our opinions. Wurlitzer is from Germany and was imported by someone in Florida. They were briefly represented by a distributor in Utah but that went away with the demise of machine distributors as the vending industry imploded. There might still be help from whoever imported the machines in Florida because someone from there has posted here before. I would do some searching in this forum for Wurlitzer and try to PM whoever it was that had experience with these machines. They are no longer produced so parts are getting scarcer. As you can probably tell, my recommendation would be to dump the machine for whatever you can get and find an American built (not Seaga) machine to use instead. On the other hand, there is a lot of stainless steel in those machines so you could disassemble it for scrap - and I'm not being sarcastic. jjohns39
I appreciate your input. Yeh this is definitely one of those cases where I wish I would have done a bit more research before I made a purchase.
AZVendor
You do have to have 12-15 coins in each coin tube for the machine to enable the bill validator. Have you ever put coins in the tubes? Since those are MDB devices you probably need to add the coins to the coin mech through the top of it while in the Tube Fill mode. This enables the machine to coins the coins as they go into the mech, otherwise the machine may not know that you have coins in the tubes. The coin payout issue could be either a bad coin mech if the credit display goes to zero but the mech doesn't pay change, or you have Multi Vend turned on if the display continues to show the change without paying it back. Multi Vend allows a second purchase with the change or you should be able to press the coin return to force a change payback. If you have the first issue where the display goes blank but no change is paid then you have a bad coin mech. If you have the second issue then you need to change your Multi Vend mode in the logic board. If you need a mech or validator for this (I have nothing else for a Wurlitzer) then you can email me at rbepic4gatgmaildotcom.
jjohns39
Thanks for the great info. I did have coins in the coin mech and I had read in the manual that I needed a certain amount, so I went ahead and just filled it up about %75. I did not however do this in "tube fill mode" as you mentioned. I didn't see that in my manual but I will look again and see if that can fix it. As for the multivendo mode, I do know that it is not in multivend mode, yesterday I set it to single vend with change payout. I can't remember if the screen zero's out after a purchase when no change is given or if the change amount is still on the screen I will check that today as well. If all else fails I think it will be time for a new coin mech and validator. I'll keep you posted. thanks!
Walta
Is there I most likely a coin pay out test some ware in the service menu. Run the test will the coin mech pay in test mode? Does your machine use a MDB coin mech? Have you tried a different coin mech in the machine? Walta
