Steak House..

Have a BIG steakhouse in a town that my route covers..

They have a rack (4 column sticker, 3 Northwesterns on bottom) the Northwesterns are selling chicle gum, gumballs, and mint chicle gum  -   2 inch ball machine  and a 5 foot spiral

I have tried and tried getting a machine in here and its the same crap..NO ROOM.. or we have had this guy forever..

Well I was in there wating again yesterday and I tried again.. asked for a manager and told her we work for a charity and would love to place a small machine in her resturant.. and she said SURE! that would be fine..BUT the machine can only be there for 30 days..cause our corporate office will NOT allow it any longer..I tried to get 60 days but she refused.

So I am curious..whats the next step..sure I think I should place the machine...but would it be worth it for only 30 days? Or should I fill it to the top and just leave it until she calls me..or what do you guys think?

I would give it a go for 30 days. Is that rack going to go away in 30 days also? I doubt it. I would ask at the end of the 30 days if there is anyway corporate would have a change of heart and let you stay. If that rack is still there then you should have some leverage. Is that a charity rack or commission? Maybe you can convert it to a commission if that is what it takes to stay. Either way 30 on location is more then you would earn at the house.

I would get in there ASAP and start taking care of it. You should stop there once a week and get to know the manager. The more you talk to her, the better your chances will be. When the 30 days are up. Ask her if you could leave it longer. Maybe if you take it out for a couple of week, you could go back in and start your 30 days over again. It's amazing how rules can be changed when you get to know someone for a few weeks.

The rack and spiral and ball machine is owned by the same guy.. and he pays commission.. I really dont know how much cause I didnt want to be nosey to much..

I plan to take a triple head Northwestern in with candy in all 3 selections and see how it goes for the 30 days..and try and get to know the manager so maybe she will let me keep the machine there..or even make up a nice proposal and see if I can get the other guy out and me in..this would make one heck of a crane machine location!!!

I am with Kyle on the crane. My idea on the leverage was not to try and get the other machine out but keep yours there. If the rack is allowed then why not yours. If it comes to charity vs commission then switch it to that if the profit is there.

Beer is correct, but, your charity machine will not last one way or the other. The big vendor will have it out once they service. If you try the commission way, your triple will still be booted. Odds of stealing the location are zero to none.

If you are serious about staying, offer a crane. You are getting into the big dollars then. The place you are talking about would pull lots of money with a crane.

I put in a Northwestern Triple play and the manager loved it..

We made a REALLY nice information packet about our cranes (with pictures and more) and the women LOVED it..shes going to let us place one..but she doesnt know if she wants to do a play till you win candy or a plush..I mentioned plush but whatever she wants..she will get..

Nice job getting the location, it may be that she wants the PTYW, it may do crappy for the first service, then you can say, hey lets change this out, you make more, I make more, were all happy, and she may go for it then.  Try to give an impression that you know your business, without sounding like a know-it-all of course. :)
