Gizmo Vending
I just picked up a DN501E and two of the narrow columns have the can shims jammed between the rotor and the sides. 1 column I might be able to free the shim, but the other has the shim jammed in there really bad. Is there any way to reverse the rotor to unloosen these, or could it be taken apart?
QuikVend
I've had the same problem in a 501e. There are 3 screws that hold the motor in. If you remove those, and pull the motor towards you, the rotor should be free to move and you can dislodge the shims.
Walta
If you run the motor test for that selection after the motor is moving unplug the machine when you can get the shim out. Walta
lacanteen
Just push the motor brake and rotate by hand backwards. You may also need to hold the switch to avoid damaging it.
Gizmo Vending
Thanks for the info. Removing the motor worked perfectly. Lacanteen, I'm not really sure where the brake is at though.
AZVendor
The brake is the metal lever that hugs the motor magnet. When the motor energizes the brake is pulled toward the magnet releasing the brake so the motor can turn. When it isn't energized you can press the brake which can release a jammed column. Southeast Treats
When you reinstall the motor, be sure the rotor is in the original orientation, it is possible to reverse the rotor and you can have vend issues if you do...
KychrisKy
I took screws out one time when bottle was stuck but lifting up the motor Break is easier next time
